Jobs

Critics claim that the Bush Administration has done little to create jobs. Nothing could be further from the truth. This administration, through its policies, has created millions of jobs in China and India.

George Bush doesn?t care; he thinks he is the King of the World!

Prosperity of Other Nations

Mr. Bush keeps telling us that when China, India, Japan and the Oil Producing Nations prosper it benefits America.

I have finally figured out why he feels that way. How else can the Bush Administration finance its massive budget and trade deficits?

Older Workers

In the workplace the younger workers complain that the older workers, by continuing to work, are blocking the younger workers progress. The young workers can?t wait to see the older workers to leave, so that the road to higher positions opens up for them.

Recently, young worker have been complaining that older people are getting a free ride for twenty years on the shoulders of the young workers. They ask ?Why can?t the old work??

Well, how many WalMart greeters and grocery baggers can our economy support?

Cell Phone Etiquette

My father learned to talk on the phone in the early 1900s, when quality of transmission was poor. The volume of his speech was proportional to the distance to the listener -- the farther, the louder. Most of today?s cell phone users speak as he did: loudly, very loudly or extremely loudly. There is no reason or excuse for this behavior.

Cell phone users are part of our modern life. Most cannot envision a time when or a location where they should refrain from talking on their phones; but they would be much less offensive if at least they lowered their volume.

Corruption

The Democrats have been harping for a long time that Republican legislators have repeatedly violated ethical standards. Now the Republicans claim that Democratic legislators have also violated ethical standards.

Are these revelations meant to make us feel better? Are we to conclude that if the Democrats are as corrupt as their Republican counterparts, that all is well? Why do these idiots think that being as corrupt as your competition is the new norm? Well it is not!

When we vote for the unethical individuals, they begin to believe that we are not only ill informed, but stupid as well, shame on them, and shame on us. Let us one and all, Republicans and Democrats, pledge that we will no longer tolerate corruption, and will vote out any individual, regardless of political affiliation, who violates ethical standards.

Religion and Politics

Religious organizations are becoming increasingly more active in politics. From denying communion to politicians who don?t doggedly follow their doctrines to sponsoring events that are no more than platforms for politicians who follow their dogma. In some cases they provide financial support to candidates of like persuasion.

I have no objection to religious organizations taking moral stands, but when they cross the line and transform into political action committees, they should be governed by the same laws as PACs. Contributions to PACs are limited and not tax deductible. Shouldn?t deductibility of contributions to religious organizations that engage in political action, to the extent that they act as PACs be taxed as well?
