Utah Scout Brennan Hawkins Found Alive

Searchers have found 11-year-old Brennan Hawkins, a scout in Utah who has been missing since Friday. Volunteers had combed the rural wilds of Utah's Uinta mountains in hopes of finding the boy.
Summit County sheriff's officials reported earlier that the boy was last seen leaving a rock climbing wall with a friend Friday at the Bear River Boy Scout Reservation.
Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds said the search took crews into remote parts of the area, including parts of Wyoming. More than 1,000 searchers, some with dogs, were assisted by a Utah Highway Patrol helicopter.

"Over the past 50 years we've had a number of people go up there and have never been heard of again," Edmunds said. Emergency Official Joshua Gilbert reported to the media that the "boy is just fine and had walked quite a distance to a lake." The lake is several miles from the camp where he was last seen. Details about how the boy got to the site will be forthcoming.
Last August, another Scout, 12-year-old Garrett Bardsley, disappeared in the same area and is believed dead.
