Do you have invisible assets?

Rod Smith
Many donīt. Yet there is a vast, invisible, spiritual realm surrounding us that will provide those assets.

What are the assets? The Bible says there are angels who minister to those who believe. The Bible calls them ministering spirits, who help Godīs people.

Also, believers in Christ have the Holy Spirit of God guiding them in everything they do. That includes wisdom in every daily situation and in decision-making.

In that unseen spiritual realm are two forces. Jesus knew when he walked Planet Earth that one spiritual force is of God, the other of satan (I never capitalize him). We need to know that too. In the New Testament we read of Jesus constantly using the power of God in opposing and destroying satanic forces and influence.

The Bible says: "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil." [italics mine]. If you are sick right now, it doesnīt come from God.

Another example, Jesus speaking: "So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom satan has bound – think of it – for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath?" [itals mine]

Any true follower of Christ will soon see that satan exists by standing on a street corner and preaching Jesus, the cross and the blood. The demonic opposition will be obvious. It will come very quickly in varied ways, and this writer knows it from personal experience.

That alone proves the point. If there were no God, and no salvation, why would anyone promoting Godīs goodness be challenged? Those who oppose abusively are driven by an evil spirit, but usually they donīt know it.

Many churchgoers never encounter demonic forces because they rarely leave the comfort of the church to promote the word of God. In this writerīs view, that is the main reason why (outside of church buildings) the benefits of Godīs invisible assets are not widely known.

As a result, people today are (sometimes unconsciously) dabbling in the occult – witchcraft, palm reading, fortune-telling, séances, clairvoyancy. We read in the Bible that God condemns those practices, and anyone involved in the occult opens themselves to satanic influence. It leads to misery in this life, and in the end eternal death unless they repent.

So we need to focus on and benefit from the invisible, spiritual assets which are from God and which bring only good.

Generally we have material assets, but few have spiritual assets. They are available, but you have to believe first. Thereīs an old Chinese saying: "The longest journey begins with a single step."

How do you begin a journey with God? Put faith and trust in the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Light dispels darkness, and the light of Jesus will give you a lamp which is always on hand day by day and for eternity.

The bottom line is that God is good; satan is bad. Which spiritual force are you subject to and serving right now?
