Discovering one of the most scenic drives and breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains would be to make your plans to visit Wears Valley. Located just off traffic light #3 in Pigeon Forge, it is also called route 321, for travelers coming in from Townsend, Tennessee. The beautiful valley was named after Colonel Samuel Wear, who moved to the area in the late 1700´s. Not only will you desire to see all the scenery and sights, but also you will want to stay in one of the many beautiful mountain rental cabins secluded in the valley. If you need reservations, I highly recommend VolunteerCabinRentals.com or TimbercreekCabins.com. Both have many cabins with lots of amenities for an enjoyable stay.
There is so much to do in Wears Valley, especially with the selection of antique stores you will discover along with lovely mountain arts and crafts to choose from. Take a peek at Antiques of Wears Valley where Donna and Nell have several collections of pots, glass from the 1930´s to 1960´s, and antique furniture that will make that cozy cabin or country home a splendor for mountain living.
Not far from Antiques of Wears Valley will you learn where Hal and Lynne Dickerson have set up shop at the Antique Mall, near their original barn where they started the business on Lyon springs Road. The Antique Mall is a variety of antique vendors who have set up several collections of furniture, rustic wood art, barbed wire art, and many other collectables for the cabin. There is even a General Store on the property where you will enjoy homemade candy, coffee, or that perfect hand-dipped ice cream cone. While in the valley, visit Bear Camp Grill for great local food at an affordable price.
Stop and fish at the trout ponds when visiting The Homestead in Wears Valley. The Homestead was designed to replicate the National Park. The entire development was carefully planned to save the mountainside from scarring from clear-cutting. You will discover an environment that is private and stunning.
Make your plans to visit a quieter side of the Smoky Mountains by visiting Wears Valley and see the outstanding views of Cove Mountain. Oh, by the way, you can view Wears Valley by renting a bike at Toobin´ & Groovin´ Bike rentals where they will deliver, and or, pick you up.
