Practical Jokester Attacks Tom Cruise At Premiere

In London a man posing as a news reporter outside a movie theater squirted actor Tom Cruise in the face at the premiere of Steven Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds”. The 42-year-old actor was busy doing press interviews when a man London Metropolitan Police did not identify the man but acknowledged he was in league with three other men all preparing a new comedy show for British Television station Channel 4.
The show’s concept is to make celebrities the targets of practical jokes. All four men were arrested and then released on bail several hours later.
Katie Holmes, who is engaged to Tom Cruise, was in attendance at the premiere but not at the actor’s side during the assault.
Cruise reprimanded the fake reporter and grew increasingly angrier over the incident.
