Humour Me, Will You?

Judy Ramsook
Life and the vey act of living are serious matters, but along the way one encounters situations and or comments that can bring a smile or grin to one’s face.

That is what reminds us we are human and although life is meant to be taken seriously, it is also meant to be enjoyed, to create a sense of balance.

Listed below are only a few of the humorous things that will happen or has already occurred to most of us.

When some one trips over something, he or she makes it a point to turn around and stare at the object responsible for his or her little stumble.

At some point or another, some one will observe most times in a subconscious sort of way another who is absent minded or otherwise preoccupied, as he or she walks into a glass door. The person who bumped into said door might quickly turn around to see if anyone else noticed his or her little mishap.

In an office environment type of situation, some one will receive a telephone call from some one who poses the question, do I have the right number. It is at this point, the person who answered the telephone might ask, what number did you dial?

Similarly, if one is at home, some one will receive a phone call from some one who is convinced that he or she has the right number, with the caller even going so far as to ask the person at the other end for the number he or she just dialed or misdialed.

You are having a conversation with some one who may not have either heard or understood all of what you have said.

You quickly observe this as the person with whom you are conversing remarks about something totally unrelated to what you were talking about.

If enough people see your photo on the internet, you might receive at least one cybersex proposition in an email. Something which could offend a few persons and put a smile on another’s lips as he or she hits the delete button.

Noticing how attached you are to your computer one day when some one asks you how to use a non computerized machine, and instead of saying press on so and so button, you say click on it.

If an adult walks into a video game store to purchase a game for him or herself, the store clerk, in an attempt at striking up a conversation might ask the customer if the game is for the kids.

Many more situations arise everday, that some may find humorous and others not, it might all depend on the situation.

Moreover, sometimes, these circumstances are put there to remind us that although life does have its share of seriousness, so does it also have its humour. Sometimes we all have to laugh a little so we don’t become too obsessed with the serious side of it.
