Massage Parlors Located in Freeway Rest Stops?

Robert Paul Reyes
Malaysia has taken a novel approach to reducing accidents in its congested freeway system, it opened the first massage center along a busy highway. The government plans to open another massage center later this year.

Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country; don't expect any bikini-clad masseuses asking customers if they want a "full body" massage.

Nevertheless this is an excellent idea, easing tense muscles of stressed-out commuters is bound to lessen incidents of road rage. After a soothing massage a driver won't have the energy to lift his middle finger to some bozo who just cut him off.

I've driven across the country and most rest stops would make ideal locations for a horror movie, our rest stops need to be upgraded and improved.

An enterprising entrepreneur should open a chain of drive-in massage parlors located at rest stops along our busiest freeways, and this being America the masseuses and masseurs could wear skimpy outfits.

I'm sure most guys would love the idea, but I'm not sure about the gals. "Hey, this is the tenth time we've made a rest stop and we aren't even out of the county yet, at this rate it will take us a month to drive from California to New York. Not to mention that you've spent all our motel money on tips for those skanky masseuses."

It's been about six years since I drove from Oakland, California to my new home in Virginia, but if our freeways had drive-in massage parlors, I might be tempted to drive back to the Bay Area for a visit.
