August 11, 2008 (Patrice Garby)
Motorcycle accident attorneys reported a Citrus Heights police officer was arrested after he led Folsom Police on a high-speed motorcycle chase, early Monday morning after being on the department for only 8 months.
According to reports, 27 year-old James M. Fraser, a Citrus Heights Police Officer, failed to stop at a red light and refused to stop for Folsom police as they tried to pull him over. According to reports, the chase started about 2:30 a.m. as Fraser sped off on his motorcycle. He reportedly led Folsom Police officers on a high-speed chase with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour. The chase lasted 41 miles from start to finish. During the pursuit, Fraser lost control of his motorcycle twice. He again ignored police orders to stop after the second loss of control where he collided with a patrol car and ran over one officers foot.
Fraser was finally stopped and arrested in El Dorado County and booked into the Sacramento Count Jail. Fraser was charged with felony evading police and assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released on bail for $100,000.
