Aliens and UFOs – What if........?
My recent articles have been critical of others who claim to have "proof" of alien existence, yet the "proof" we are asked to accept consists of nothing more than a persons word for their claims. Some of these people have very good reputations, but if the roles were reversed, would they (shouldn´t they?) not question the source of this information?
I realize how difficult it is to provide evidence that will satisfy every doubter and some people are so convinced that aliens and UFOs don´t exist, that they won´t even analyze the information provided anymore (at least not seriously).
Is James Oberg one of those critics who fall into that category? Does he now feel that he has to live up to his reputation of being a UFO skeptic and is afraid to admit that some of the information might be true (for fear of damaging that image)?
Oberg has been very supportive of NASA, especially in respect of claims that they are covering up the existence of UFOs (in particular images seen in NASA videos) and suggestions that the first moon walk never took place. NASA at one point considered employing Oberg to help dispel these rumors, but later changed their minds.
Sadly, it is so much easier to dispel UFO sightings than it is to prove them, but this is true of any subject that fits into the "unusual" category (like ghosts, ESP and other paranormal areas). People love to explain how things are not possible by using human technology and thinking as an example. And if they can´t do that, they can always resort to the more usual comments like "He´s crazy!"
Whilst we should examine the motives behind those who try to prove the existence of aliens/UFOs, this thinking should be applied to those who try to discredit "potential" evidence as well. Let´s take a closer look at NASA. There is no "real" proof that they are involved in any cover-up, but some things have happened to make you wonder whether they are being as truthful as they claim to be.

As I have already pointed out, James Oberg has defended NASA many times, but in a biography found on the internet it says "James Oberg, had a 22-year career as a space engineer in Houston, where he specialized in NASA space shuttle operations for orbital rendezvous, as a contractor employee. He worked at the Johnson Space Center in Houston 1975-1997. In support of NASA's spaceflight operations he has written books on Rendezvous Flight Procedures, on Mission Control Center console operations, and on the history of orbital rendezvous. In honor of his pioneering work on developing and documenting these space shuttle rendezvous techniques, he was named by the NASA-Area "Association of Technical Societies" as their 1984 "Technical Person of the Year". In 1997 he received the "Sustained Superior Performance" award for designing the complex first Space Station assembly mission." Hardly the most unbiased person you are going to find when it comes to supporting NASA.
I´m not suggesting he is involved in any cover-up with NASA, but some might question his loyalties "if" they were trying to conceal some information, wouldn´t they?
Maybe the "conspiracy theorists" have got it wrong and the moonwalk did take place? But can you blame them for being suspicious when the Apollo 11 telemetry tapes made during the walk went "missing" This is not the only important information that NASA have "lost". Hard to believe they can send people into space, yet can´t manage to look after the records properly. NASA have also stopped showing "live" images on space missions (including images sent back from Mars), why is that? As I have said many times before, people who keep secrets have something to hide.
The UFO "debunkers" as they are called, seem to go to a lot of trouble to prove that UFOs do not exist and those that say they do, should not be taken seriously. Why? Why can´t people make up their own minds on this subject, what are they afraid of? Until we receive proof, the existence of Aliens (no matter how likely) remains a topic for speculation. Why do people like Oberg, or organizations like NASA have such a desire to ridicule speculation. If they don´t want to believe in Aliens, that´s fine, but why try to stop others? Just as many people believe in the existence of aliens as they do a God, but do they spend the same amount of energy telling people that God does not exist?
At this point I´d like to change the subject a little. I think most of us would agree that our world is far from perfect and even though we consider ourselves civilized, we are still killing each other in order to achieve some result (whatever that may be). So in reality, we are no more civilized than we were thousands of years ago. Despite incredible technological advances, we are still as brutal as we ever were.
Is this ever likely to change? And if it does, what will make that happen? For those who believe in a "biblical" God, they will say that the return of Jesus will put an end to this madness (end of times). For those who are not religious, maybe they just hope for the best or believe that some other force will come to our rescue?
To understand why we have so many wars, we need to understand the three main problems that exist on our planet. These are: People who are incredibly rich, People with great power and countries that have vast military resources.
Incredibly rich people usually like to expand their wealth and don´t care that much how they do it. People with power often want more power and countries that have a strong military are not afraid to "bully" those that are weaker.
These are the things that "impress" us, but what if that were to change? What would it take for the wealth, the power and the weapons to no longer have any meaning? And what result could we expect?
Whether you believe in aliens or not, I´d like you to put your disbelief (and jokes) to one side for just one minute and imagine this. Today, we live in a world where wealth, power and weapons are our Gods, but try to imagine (if you can) that tomorrow some aliens arrived that were incredibly advanced and powerful. They haven´t threatened us with their power, but we can see that they are more than capable of doing so (if they wished). Would we still be impressed by the people on this planet who have wealth, power or weapons? Or would the arrival of such beings completely change our outlook on life?
I suspect that the reality of coming "face to face" with a more superior being would enable us to see the "big picture" and help us to forget our petty differences (although those who previously held the power may find this more difficult to accept). With the current power structure made ineffective, the wars would end as the people would no longer support it (as they do now). Imagine a world where small groups of people (a minority) no longer had the power to decide our (the majority) destinies, wealth was no longer a key to power and countries had no weapons. People would have no choice but to get along!
However, back to reality and thanks for sparing one minute of your time. It would be nice to think we could do all of this for ourselves, but history has shown that we can´t. Our only hope is to receive "outside" help with our problems. Personally, I wouldn´t care whether that help came in a "biblical" or "alien" form, as long as the result is the same.
It has been suggested that humans are just a small part of the life that exists throughout the universe, and that there is some "power" watching over us. This may seem like wishful thinking (or religion), but is it really so fantastic? The Universe was probably created at one moment in time (perhaps as suggested with the "big bang" theory) and if life appeared on our planet following the formation of the Universe and its many Stars and Planets, why not on other places?
No one knows for sure how long the Universe has existed, but life could have appeared billions of years ago. Whilst some creatures appeared on our planet millions of years ago, humans are relative newcomers (a couple of million years ago?). That means some alien life could have quite a head start on us. Look at what we have achieved in such a short time and imagine how advanced others could be who have been around much longer.
It is a fact that our Sun will one day destroy all the planets in our Solar System, which means humans will have to find a "new" home if they wish to survive. This has no doubt happened in many other systems already, and if life existed there, maybe they had the technology to move? It is possible that we might even be the result of such an occurrence.
The purpose of this article is not to convince "non-believers" of the existence of aliens without proof, we all want that. But to examine all the possibilities in a logical way and to perhaps understand why there are some people who would not want the truth to be known. Evidence of a superior race of beings would challenge those who control us at the moment and question the existence of a biblical God. That is not a conspiracy theory, that is a fact. One day the proof we seek will arrive, but some may choose to conceal this from us for as long as possible.
Until that day comes, we must try to keep an open mind and question not just those who believe, but those who say they don´t as well.
