Will Al Gore Please Run In 2008?

Judy Ramsook
If some one learned he or she has won first place in a major contest, he is happy. He is jubilant, people are calling in to wish him well, and all that, but while all that celebration is taking place the telephone rings.

It is then this individual learns that there has been an error and is also told the painful truth that he has not been declared the winner of the contest after all. Some one else has.

A few years pass by, and time for a similar contest approaches. It is at this time the person who won but was then told he did not win the previous competition might be asked if he will participate in such a contest, again. After some consideration, such a person might utter a thoughtful no.

When it was learned that Al Gore was not the winner of the 2000 presidential election, some of his supporters and fans were devastated, as he must have been as well.

However, just like there is always a next time for such events, another presidential election is approaching come 2008. Will Al Gore consider running again?

Some of his supporters and fans probably wish he would. Although people have poked fun at his serious persona, he looks like and carries himself as if he would fit the part of president come 2008.

He may seem serious, yes, but all one has to do is listen to or watch him deliver a speech from which he can surmise that Mr. Gore really does care about his country, and more importantly the people who dwell in it- his fellow Americans.

Take the speech he delivered on October 5th 2005, for example. A transcript of this speech can be viewed here, http://www.tpmcafe.com/story/2005/10/5/14301/6133 In addition to his brilliant and intelligent oratory skill, he carries himself like a true prospective leader would.

He seems self confident and strong. Sometimes, in some situations, if people see that their leader is one who is representative of strength and confidence, they, the people may also made to feel more secure about themselves and their country.

Quite a few names have already been surfacing in light of the upcoming presidential election, but the name Mr. Gore’s supporters and fans would like to see in relation to it is also that of Mr. Al Gore.

It would be good if he would at least consider running in the 2008 presidential election. His country and his people need him.
