Some people think Jessica Simpson is a shrewd businesswoman who exploits her dunce image as a marketing ploy. She knows that if men think her I.Q. matches her bust size -- they won't find her intimidating. Jessica really didn't think that "Chicken of the Sea" tuna was chicken, right?
If Jessica Simpson managed her own career, then I would be of the opinion that her dumb shtick was just an act. But Jessica's career is completely controlled by her domineering father/manager, Joe Simpson. An intelligent woman would not let a former evangelist huckster control everything she does.
There is new ammunition for those of us who think that Jessica Simpson is really an idiot. The dim-witted star pulled out of a planned meeting with President George W. Bush, because she is concerned about "politicizing" the charity she supports.
The blond bombshell is a representative for "Operation Smile" -- a non-profit charity which offers cosmetic surgery to facially disfigured children from around the world.
Can you say "clueless"? A celebrity is chosen as a representative for a charity for one reason, and one reason only: To garner publicity.
By snubbing George W. Bush she missed a golden opportunity to publicize her favorite charity, a photo-op with George W. Bush would have created a media buzz. The White House photographers would have loved the opportunity to photograph the slow-witted star with the dim-witted president.
Bono, of the rock group U2, who is of the liberal persuasion, never misses a chance to meet with George W. Bush, to promote his charities and further his political objectives.
"Operation Smile" should dump Jessica Simpson, they should persuade brainy beauty Sharon Stone to be their new celebrity representative.
