Alleghany County: An Attraction To Visitors In The International Tourism Market

The United States of America is a very big country having 50 states. It is very difficult to ordinarily understand and gain knowledge about the United States. Topographically, every state is different from other in terms of weather, clockwise time, social behavior, culture and people.
The Alleghany Mountain - the region for recreational activities is at the southern tip of the Shenandoah Valley. To some extent, it is the mountain valley like the capital city Kathmandu. Nepal- known by the top of the world Mount Everest – is the world famous home of giant mountains and Himalayan villages. The highest mountains in the world are located here. The mountainous highlands of Alleghany reflect to the environment of Nepal and Nepalese. Clifton Forge is more or less similar to the geographical environment of Surya Binayak of Bhaktapur, Nepal. It has a population of about 5000.The people of this area are very good, friendly and cooperative.
The prospect of Nepal´s village tourism concept can be transferred and composed here as a new attraction to visitors.Dr Pradhanang of Nepal who is ´the Father of village tourism in Nepal´ stated that his innovative concept and thought can be applied for area or national development in a new way to boost up economy.
Here we look forward to seeing a county or village – a part of Virginia. Located between Roanoke to the south and Lexington to the north, the Alleghany County seems to be a beautiful nature´s paradise in the United States of America.
On the road map, Alleghany County is directed to the Interstate 64, which provides the direction for access to east and west. It is just west of Interstate 81; facilitating ground transportation access to the Mid-Atlantic.CSX named by company provides freight and piggyback services with offices in Clifton Forge and Covington.
The Alleghany County is a good for residence, recreation, business, industry and family home life which widens 452 square miles within the James River Basin nature and forestland.
Facilitated by three major airports such as Roanoke Airport, Greenbrier Valley Airport, and airport just over the West Virginia and Ingalls Field nearby the Bath County, Alleghany County is more accessible to air services.
By climatology the Alleghany County is a healthy area followed by 39 inches of rainfall and 17 inches of snowfall each year. The highest 4,049 ft lies in warm Springs Mountain at Big Know while the lowest point is 1,000 ft above sea level. The annual temperature ranges from 25 degree in December to 88 degree in July.
The Alleghany Regional Hospital located between the city of Covington and Town of Clifton Forge at Low Moor has provided a good facilitation for health care to people- especially the Alleghany Highlands and local communities since the last 25 years. The hospital constructed and managed by HCA is good for all. At the east, there is a small town named as Iron Gate.
Covington is the home to the paper mill operations named Mead Westvaco Corporation, which is the region´s largest employer. It shows a central area for county´s business activities, which is 36 miles from Roanoke, 175 miles from Richmond and 225 miles from Washington, D.C. It is noted that an international Port of Entry and Foreign Trade Zone are located within 66 miles far distance at New River Valley Airport in Pulaski County.

The region consists of more than 244,000 people as workforce within a 45-mile radius of Covington. The Alleghany County has had the Dabney S.Lancaster Community College. It has 40 programs in academic, professional and technical fields. It has the attraction to dining and hospitality management. The county is nearby the beautiful resorts like The Homestead, The greenbrier, Snowshoe and Wintergreen. The college has the important training program on Advanced Manufacturing and Packaging Technology to prepare technicians.
The Town of Clifton Forge is a center for art and home to the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts.Besides, it is the county having recreation like fishing, hiking, golfing, kayaking and so on. The James River ranks as a world-class fishing adventure and pleasure. The lower Jackson, below Gathright Dan is a superb tailwater fishery.
