No matter where we live, my family as well as many others I think, tends to take things for granted. We tend to not do many of the fun local things that we likely would do if we were tourists visiting Morristown New Jersey for the first time. This brought to mind what a great idea it would be to put together a list of activities which are available to the public.
Moonlight Movies in Morristown (July & August 2008) Presented by the Morristown Partnership. All festivities will take place at the Morristown Green located in Morristown. Pre-show entertainment will start at 6:30PM. In the event of rain or high heat, the movie will be shown the following Wednesday at the same time and location. The decision to show the movie will be made by 1:30PM on the scheduled date. Call 973-455-1133 for updates
Fridays on the Green Lunchtime Concerts, May & June. Presented by the Presbyterian Church of Morristown. These are free concerts held every Friday at noon in May & June.
The Morristown Community Theatre, 100 South St. Morristown NJ 07960. Call 973-539-8008 for show times and shows.
The Historic Ford Mansion at Washington Headquarters. They play a wonderful film about George Washington´s history here in Morristown and his stay at the Ford Mansion from 1779-1780. They also have a guided tour of the mansion.
The Famished Frog located on Washington just off the Morristown Green has a Magician in the dining room on Wednesdays and live bands on Thursdays.
Fosterfields Farm a historic farm dedicated to preserving and showing the way of life of a Morristown area farmer of the 1890´s.
Comedy at Calaloo Every Saturday evening The Calaloo Café has a comedy show starting about 8:30 and extending into the evening.
The Morris County Park System has many events though the year including happenings at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Golf Outings …
Historic Speedwell Village is a interesting historic site open to the public May – October
Morristown New Jersey has a lot to offer the general public and much to keep you happy and busy though the summer.
