Somaliland in Chaos, Hargeisa Eclipsing Mogadishu in Street Fights

Dr. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis
The lies of the Riyaale cronies had spread throughout the web; the meager resources of the tiny breakaway, unrecognized, country had been spent for getting ludicrous articles published in prestigious newspapers in order to convincingly portray Somaliland as something between the Emirates and Brunei, the perfect heaven of which the entire mankind was mysteriously oblivious.

In fact, there was no lie left aside, falsehood unused, and fabrication uninvented. The effort was deployed in order to speak about the unspeakable, to propagate the unacceptable, and to convince about the deplorable: the formal recognition of the renegade state.

To read the tragically comical, dramatically inexperienced, and absolutely inconsistent apologists of the criminal pseudo-president Riyaale, the likes of Mutairi, Sabeyse and – don´t laugh! – Dalmar Kaahin, Somaliland was richer than Qatar, wealthier than Luxembourg, more developed than Norway, more booming than Singapore, more affluent than Brunei, and more influential than Switzerland. But nobody knew about it – except perhaps the notorious and ominous Jendayi Frazer.

In their effort to defend the undefendable, these ridiculous pseudo-scribes did not realize that, in miserably serving their boss and despondently getting their monthly pay, they went too far from the reality. They failed to understand that no much time was needed for developments to take place and duly uncover their poor and crestfallen lies.

When you present a renegade as a brave leader, when you depict a demented cetaceous and tyrannical wife as a respectable first lady, when you portray a realm in disarray as an organized country, when you describe a tyranny whereby free elections are never held as a functioning democracy, and you do your ingenious best to forget that the ruling gang has imposed disastrous Abyssinian policies on patriotic Somali Isaaqs, Issas, Dhulbahantes, Gadabursis and others, you simply get uncovered very soon.

In several articles, I exposed the Somaliland trick of the cruel Abyssinian dictator as a device to help permanently divide and ultimately destroy Somalia in the most evil way. The Abyssinian Anti-Somali Hatred has long been unjustifiably undermined among Somalis. The result was the 17-year Somali Civil War; this is by now understood perfectly well in Berbera and in Marka, in Eyl and in Kismayu.

Yesterday´s events at Hargeisa prove that the decomposition of Somaliland has advanced; the average Somalis of the Northwest do not accept any further injustice, bias and unfairness from the part of the illegitimate tyrant Riyaale.

They demonstrate in order to protest against anything they view as prejudicial governmental measure or decision. The government and the tyrant have no validity in their eyes; most of the Somalis engulfed in the Somaliland wreck know that only little time is left to the Abyssinian puppet Riyaale, and his disposable whale Huda Barkhad. The Hargeisa events corroborate their firm belief.

Unrest, Blood in the Streets of Hargeisa

Confirming as correct all the accusations against him, Riyaale ordered the transportation of a rig used for drilling water in Hargeisa´s southern districts to his own region, Awdal. This unacceptable amalgamation of clanism, partiality, and cronyism was denounced by the large majority of the Hargeisa inhabitants.

After the shameful dictatorial decision was reconfirmed by the Minister of State for Home, Mr. Hassan Ma'alin, to the BBC Somali representative in Hargeisa, Ahmed Saed Ege, people took to the streets. In the beginning, it was just a peaceful demonstration, but it was clear that it was taking place in a dictatorship whereby the rulers and their clannish thugs form a definitely murderous gang.

Tyrant Riyaale could not stand this for long; imitating his master and archetype, Africa´s cruelest butcher, the Tigray thug Meles Zenawi, Riyaale sent his ultimatum to Sultan Mohamed Abdiqadir, the traditional leader of Hargeisa south. Mohamed reportedly admitted that the president called him to say that if the demonstration was not stopped by 2.00 pm local time, he would use the army.

As the brave Somali protesters did not obey Riyaale unauthoritative, illegitimate and absolutely disrespectful orders, the army was called by the president and terrible scenes of fight occurred in the streets of Hargeisa – which is by now rather called Mogadishu North. The merciless attitude of the commanders and the heroic resistance of the Hargeisa inhabitants were the reasons for which the streets of the city were covered by blood; casualties involve 3 innocent civilians, whereas another 15 were hospitalized, and among them 7 had serious injuries.

Huda´s Instructions

Panicked because of the intrepid stance of the Hargeisa inhabitants, the "president" – hidden behind his voluminous and tyrannical wife – followed Huda´s instructions and ´ordered´ the Minister of Water and Minerals Mr. Qasim to deny that the rig was about to be moved. Quite interestingly, the rig was to be transported to this minister´s village Dila. He thus expects peace to prevail for some days at least.

It is certain that more blood is going to be shed in the months ahead until the tyrannical and renegade regime be finally deposed. But if the words of Mr. Qasim are true, this signifies a great victory for the tyrannized people of Somaliland.

With the elimination of the vicious couple, the path will open for all the tribes of Northern Somalia to start negotiations and consultations with all the other Somali tribes, as well as with the political forces of Somalia, in view of a final agreement for a United Somalia far from the past shadows and nightmares.

Hiiraan Online - Monday, July 07, 2008

Hargeysa (HOL) - So far 11 have been wounded and 2 have died after violent demonstrations erupted in some districts in the city of Hargeisa.

The demonstrations began this morning near the airport and later spread to other parts of the city including the centre of the city´s big market where demonstrators confronted the police.

Later on the military joined the police as reinforcement and used live ammunition. It is not known yet the exact number of casualties and damages as a result of these violent demonstrations.

The demonstrations started after the government ordered the removal of a rig drilling for water in south of the city. Youth in the area opposed to the removal of the rig protested the decision. Nevertheless, the government removed the truck carrying the drilling rig into a building not far from Ambassador Hotel near Hargeisa Airport. The demonstrations have lasted until 4PM this afternoon.

The youth opposed to the removal of the drilling rig camped last night near the building were the truck carrying the rig was stationed arguing that the rig is being moved to Borama city after the governor of Awdal region told the BBC yesterday that there is shortage of water in the region.

"We will not accept the removal of the rig until it finishes the drilling of the wells it was doing, "said Mowlid Farah who is one the young people opposed to the government´s decision to remove the rig after we asked him questions.

Senior official in the government remain mute on the issue but eyewitnesses told us that the chief of the police of Somaliland and the Minister of Agriculture who discussed the matter said that the rig is not being moved to Borama but can not function properly due missing parts which have been ordered from overseas.

The plan was that the rig drill four wells in the south of the city but Somaliland administration ordered the removal of the rig from the area it was drilling before it completed its work.

HOL is following the situation closely will report to you any development soon.
