Zookeeper Fired For...Doing The Right Thing?

Judy Ramsook
When it comes to the matter of conveying important information or news to the public, I believe honesty is a plus. Especially where the journalist or news media is concerned.

So when a San Antonio Zookeeper was recently terminated from her job for speaking to a local television news station about a matter she felt strongly about, people began to take notice.

Apparently the former Zookeeper informed the news station that some people were dropping off deceased pets or animals at a closed Animal Cares facility. This is something anyone who has an ounce of compassion would want to act on.

And I cannot think of anyone who would allow this sort of action, the dropping off of dead animals at a closed Animal Cares Facility to continue without doing anything about it, even if it means talking to a sector of the media about his/her knowledge of the matter to let the public know what is happening.

The former Zookeeper is without a job today, and for doing what? The right thing? What would you have done if at the time you talked to the media, you did not realize you would end up losing your Zookeeper job by doing what you thought to be the right thing, telling the truth?
