When you think of internet marketing what comes to your mind? Does it conjure up images of foreign people sitting in a small cubicle hunched over a keyboard located in a far away sweat shop? What about geeky looking guys with taped glasses and plastic pocket protectors who argue Mac vs. pc functionality? How about your average soccer Mom sitting down with a cup of coffee after returning home from dropping the kids off at school and settling into her favorite chair with her laptop resting on her knees?
BINGO …. Door number three is the winner for the most likely to be a successful internet marketer! Nowadays your average successful entrepreneurial internet marketer will work from home, with flexible hours and make money online. Pretty cool!
Home based businesses are the way to go now with ridiculous fuel prices, high child care prices, long stressful commutes and hours away from home and family. Have you considered doing the same? What do you really need to be successful in your own internet marketing business?
The nitty gritty basics to open up shop with your very own internet marketing business are very simple. You will need a computer to work on and I prefer a laptop because it is portable. Of course, you will need an internet connection. Once again, I have my preferences and if at all possible go with a high speed connection, but if you are in a pinch Starbucks and McDonalds both offer free WIFI. A telephone is a nice option, but not an absolute, because much of your talking can be done over VOIP, or voice over internet. This can be done for free most times and when not free, extremely inexpensive.
Now that you have the basic equipment together, you need to ask yourself if you have the desire, motivation and discipline to start your own business and work by yourself at home without a BOSS standing over your shoulder. Well? What do you think?
OK, you have made your decision, now what? You need something to market, of course!
Many people choose to go the e-book and reports route. They acquire, either free or "paid" rights, to sell or give away these informational products. There are, literally tons of this stuff out there in the marketplace if my email box is any indication. The problem with a lot of it is that is the same old stuff just repackaged. I understand the concept. You want my name and email address and in return you will give me this FREE stuff. OK, sometimes it is a fair trade and then sometimes it is just a time waster!
Internet marketing also can be any other business that is done strictly online. I spent a lot of time and did my due diligence and found a company that is a brand new type of business model. It is called DubLi.
DubLi is NOT MLM or affiliate marketing, but a new mousetrap, if you will, where you purchase a business license from them and in return they provide you with your own personalized website and a worldwide online shopping and auction platform. You share your website with others, either customers that just want to purchase products at a good price and have fun doing it, or other people like yourself, that would like to make money online.
Of course, you are probably saying right now that shopping online isn´t new and auctions aren´t either, look at e-bay. WRONGO!
