The Smooth Agile DMT Review

Fred Waters
The exercise equipment industry is suffering from a lack of imagination. There is very little that is new or different. An exception is the new Smooth Fitness Agile DMT. At first glance, you may think it is an elliptical trainer, but it offers much more in terms of overall exercise and conditioning.

Elliptical trainers are often marketed as machines that provide a total body workout. Yes, they do exercise both the upper and lower body, but with limitations. The repetitive elliptical motion has restricted benefits.

This is where the Smooth Fitness Agile DMT takes cross training to a new level. The DMT stands for "Dynamic Motion Trainer." The Agile DMT offers a dynamic range of motion that exercising more muscles. There are twelve distinct motions, and with each, you are exercising a different range of muscles. When combined with exercises that include both forward and reverse motion, you tone many more muscle groups.

The forward motion exercise of the Smooth Agile DMT is similar to the workouts you get from lunges, squats and abdominal crunches. The focus is on the glutes, quadriceps and core muscles. The reverse motion exercise tones up your calves and hamstrings.

The Agile DMT also does a better job of toning the upper body. With elliptical trainers, often your arms and shoulders tend to "go along for the ride." Unless you make an effort to distribute the resistance between your upper and lower body, your lower body ends up getting most of the benefits.

The Smooth Agile DMT adds resistance to your arms, shoulders, chest and back. It forces you to work the upper body and divide the resistance with the lower body.

Additional Features of the Smooth Agile DMT

Less Strain - As mentioned, elliptical trainers have repetitive motion, and that repetition strains your knees and ankles. With twelve distinct types of motion on the Smooth Agile, you vary your exercising and reduce the stress and strain to your body. In fact, this is probably one of the lowest impact exercises other than swimming. And you don´t have to get wet.

Articulating Foot Pedals - The Agile comes with articulating foot pedals to further reduce the stress and strain. The pedals angle with the motion, therefore avoiding foot lift. Many people complain about numbness in their feet from constantly having to lift their soles to meet the elliptical motion.

Handlebar Controls – Rather than having to reach for the console to change up your resistance and motion, there are buttons in the handlebars. Consequently, you never have to break your stride.

Commercial Grade – The Smooth Agile DMT is no budget exercise machine. It is designed for a commercial environment and weighs a hefty 390 lbs. It gives you a solid and stable workout.

All this quality and innovation comes at a price, but if you are looking for a machine that gives you the optimum workout, the Smooth Agile DMT is worth the price.
