School Vouchers

Alex Zakson
It appears that no one is immune from reading or writing about the subject. Vouchers are nothing but a band-aid on our educational system.

If your car’s tire had a leak, you could either put air in the tire every day or so, or if you were smart you would have it fixed. If our Public School system is broken, why put temporary patches on it with vouchers; why not fix it?

If our Public School Teachers and Administrators can’t do the job, fire them and get educators who can. There must be some. Advocates of School Vouchers say that schools getting the voucher students do a better job. So why not hire them? If India and China can have good schools, if Russia and Eastern Europe can have good schools, why can’t we? Maybe we should outsource our schools to these countries and save future American jobs.

There is a common cliché that says “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” The corollary to that is: “If it is broken fix it.”
