A crowd of worn out tourists parade by the snake man on Ocean Front Walk on Venice Beach, a one line scripted mention is given by a young college student droning on, while thinking how he will spend his next paycheck. These poor unsuspecting tourists don´t realize what they are missing. Do they know the incredible stories behind these performers and artists? Jeffrey Solomon strolls past the group, smiling and welcoming them all to Venice Beach. Jeffrey is a local of over 40 years. He chides the local sidewalk vendors…"maybe we should re-direct the tour to the old whorehouse on Navy? Someone needs to show them the real Venice." They all laugh with empathy for the bored sightseers. A light bulb goes off in Jeffrey´s head. Venice Beach Walking Tours is born.

Solomon served on the original Venice Town Council and is currently on the board of the Venice Chamber of Commerce. He is a personable, knowledgeable, and delightful local personality. As a matter of fact, Jeffrey Solomon will be featured on the 2008 Premier showing of "Faces of Los Angeles" which celebrates "unsung heroes" throughout Los Angeles to be aired on LA´s City Channel 35. The excitement continues with the Grand Opening celebration of the Venice Beach Walking Tours. Friday, July 4, 2008 at 11:00 am at the base of Rose Ave. and Ocean Front Walk. Starting on Friday, July 4, 2008, the summer tours will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11am-2pm. The 1.5 mile tour will cover Ocean Front Walk, one of the most filmed locations in California. You´ll see amazing street performers, consisting of everything from gymnasts spinning one-armed handstands, knife-throwing jugglers on 10 foot tall ladders, and music on every corner. Jeffrey will take you to the Venice Pavilion, the home of dance skating, where he himself has skated many times. The Graffiti Wall and Sports complex is also included in this part of the tour. Let´s not forget the wonderful Art that Venice Beach is known for.
