March On! Shifting the Paradigm: Paths to Women?s Political Leadership in the United States

Today we celebrate International Women's Day worldwide.
I started my frigid but brightly lit IWD in Vermont visiting some local haunts, one being a business center at a Comfort Inn to enjoy a waffle & conversation with other traveling business women. Guess what? Not one of them knew what today WAS. So for starters, pass it on! March on! Rock on, ladies this is OUR day!
March is, traditionally in New England the season of the tradition that began our democracy & which continues today in our rural areas; the Local Town Meeting.
As a former member of the League of Women Voters Observer Corp I would also today urge all women & the men who love them to GO TO your local town meetings & participate at the local grass roots level.
In point of fact, it is at this level you can have some of the most satisfying impact as a change agent for the collective better by working & activating close to Home, wherever you call that in these United States on the back of Turtle Island.
In the smaller towns & townships & parishes this is where meaningful debate, dialogue & further more deeply investigative questions arise to determine the best course of action for your local community or village. It is how you cast a Green vote; a vote for the Earth, by "blooming where you are planted".
I could give a flying fig what your political affiliation is. I only urge you to get in there & get a little dirty with the sometimes heated up slinging & counterslinging of mud, opinions & yes, sometimes dirty & below the belt tricks & blows that politicking has been about in recent & not so recent years past.
Yet if you have a vision, which you are holding cherished within your heart of a more peaceable union of these United States, a quieter, gentler, easier existence enhanced by the wise stewardship of our rapidly proliferating technological tools & abilities you MUST begin at home to regulate, monitor, & shape these new tools to the greater good of the whole. And in the larger scheme of things each town, each parish, each village, each city each state & each country is made up of healthy cells, the smaller collective communities where you live, move & brush your teeth in.
At these local springtime activities you will see up close & personal who the real workers & servants FOR the community are. You can examine their records, look at how they do their accounting of funds & resources for the commonwealth & vote them in & out of accountability.
Then as the seasons march forward into spring & summer you can determine WHO you want to represent you fairly & impartially at the levels more removed from Main Street U.S.A.
See who it is, again WITHOUT regard for any formal party affiliations that you would encourage to represent you in the Congressional & Senate races as they unfold.
I say, ladies we need more WOMEN in all these offices. Any scientist can tell you, social scientist or math or physics teacher, that when you have a country comprised of 51% of one sex in comparison to another, & that one sex, the majority only has a handful of its own in ALL elected & appointed offices of the three branches of government in a "democracy" which is what our founding visionaries foresaw was the potential of these wise separations, WE DO NOT HAVE NOR HAVE WE EVER HAD A TRUE functioning democracy yet. It is still an unfulfilled POTENTIAL for equality for all which can only be fulfilled by having the same percentage of this sex in every office & level of our defined & organized democratic republic.
Ladies, be wise too. You do not need bundles of cash to win elections. You need vison, tenacity & a will to use the free internet services to your election campaign & cause in any political matter. It is in the main a freeway for you to EXPLOIT with that female functioning mind. Never mind that you are receiving welfare! Get to the library! Or the employment office or a nice midrange motel chain & USE the internet to build coalitions to preserve your share of terra firma, your part of the garden of potential Eden we can cultivate collectively into material manifestation in an election cycle or two. Really it is there for you to claim. Full sovereignty over your part of the stewardship of Mother Earth! Go for it!
With all due respect to the ladies who have toughed it out in making inroads to the higher offices within the Congress & Senate, you are in the main BLESSED WITH WEALTH. Therefore, as well meaning as you may be, you do not possess the "lived world experience" of the lower struggling middles & poor classes of women & mothers who DO KNOW what is wrong & how to make it easier to gain access to resources we, the People believe are inherent as the legacy of being an American citizen.
So go for it! Are you suffering from March madness? Are you mad as hell? This anger, this feminist/maternal rage is POWER. Use it like a laser beam ladies to cut out the perpetrators of waste, pollution & rape of your rightful resources for your children, your grandchildren & those coming down seven generations or more.
Purge the democracy we now have of the ne'er do wells. Call illegal activity what it is & make sure the laws of this country of Laws is ENFORCED. Arrest the criminals, whether in high or low offices. I mean that literally. Stop them in their tracks. Without anything more than your whole BRAIN power applied to learning the depth & breadth of the FREE resources available to you to do so. Citizen's arrests. Stop "dumbing down". Tranquilizing your consciences. BE BRILLIANT! Shine forth your lights before all of us, we NEED you!!!
Stopping the flow of illegal & corrupt influences that have long muddied the waters, created confusion & deliberately hidden the rape of resources of water, earth, air & fire.
Use the fire of your anger to burn out the wasted areas, so that new growth can eventually emerge again, purified by this metaphysical rage. But please do so within the tried & true, sometimes painfully slow paths of civic & civil minded change which ARE available in all the branches of governement, the legislative, the administrative & the judicial.
We are getting there ladies, & gentlemen who are tuning in to the feminine aspect of your being. We are reaching a balanced-within gender equity... & this will reflect as we do that work within, by manifesting it in positive change in all of our local State & Federal offices & seats of power.
