With our busy lives, it is often tough to find the time to gather all the information needed to figure out how and why things are happening the way they are. As a substitute, many of us look to persons we trust to act as our moral or political compass. This approach sometimes works, and is certainly easier than researching and thinking things through. However, it frequently results in the blind leading the blind, and makes us subject to partisan bias, or vested interest. This is an important election year with some serious economic realities in the balance. I encourage you not to take the simple and mindless path of blindly following others.
