The True story Of Oil Isn't Being Told

Ken Hughes
Very little of whats being written about oil is fact, more of the facts aren't being written, much is being covered but not the true story. First oil is as essential to our existence on this planet as water or air. Oil is the foundation of over 60 % of all of todays manufactured products. Gasoline is only 21% of a barrel of oil, Oil fuels the transport systems, everything we touch has been moved by one or more trucks before we ever get our hands on it. Oil fuels the planes trains buses and boats that moves us from one destination to another. We wear oil, we sit on oil we sleep on oil we are nearly totally dependent on oil.

Who owns the Big Oil Companies, only 1.5 % is owned by private parties, the rest of the stock is held by pension funds, mutual funds and institutional investments. In short your 401K and your retirement funds are invested in oil.. Two thirds of the oil industry is foreign owned. If congress messes with their profits there's always China and India who will take all the oil they can get. Congress and the Candidates know this, their blowing smoke at the publics expense.

Those environmentalist who want to rid the world of oil don't realize just how dependent they are on oil. Man didn't create the creator, the creator created man. Before he/ she did a few million years were spent creating more essential things than humans. Man was perhaps the last creature to evolve on this earth. I'm sure God wonders from time to time if giving man a brain was such a good idea. Mans brain was perhaps that last unnecessary stroke of the brush on what otherwise would have been a masterpiece.

Oil has been a staple for man since the Neanderthals roamed the earth, they used oil for light, heat even medical purposes and who knows how much more. There's a misconception that man creates technology, man only finds what's always been there, Man can't create unless he / she has a foundation product provided by nature to work from. We hear a great deal about alternative souses, there's no alternative to oil. There are perhaps limited additions but never any alternatives. Vegetation can't be produced in the quantities necessary to replace oil and still feed the worlds populations.

For years environmentalist have been predicting doom and gloom if we don't abandon our current lifestyle in favor of what they perceive to be the Green Way to salvation.

Students get PhD's from prestigious Universities in alternative agricultural pharmaceutical studies, [Pot growing and Smoking] and they become environmental experts. Most of what they dream up are clouded visions of their own experiments in the alternative. The PhD only meant they knew how to remember not how to think.

What amazes many of us is how a lie can be expanded into a national phobia. For an example these billions of tons of carbon flowing around above us is pure myth. In the Los Angeles area the smog is so thick you can't see a humming bird 100 foot above you. At night in Great Falls Montana you can clearly see every star in the universe. The creator doesn't give up his / her secrets easily but as man's knowledge expands and he / she develops more technology the sky will clear, and it will be done without scaring the hell out of little children and the less informed. For Americas size and it's position in the industrial world it has one of the cleanest environments on earth. I have often questioned if any real research goes into these environmental studies the media publishes as fact.

We are told if the off shore, the shell coal / oil fields in the Rocky Mountains and ANWAR are opened up it will be an environmental disaster. The history of oil exploration tells us just the opposite. Not a single oil spill has come from drilling and exploration or from the many pipe lines that transport crud oil. To date the few oil spills have been, Id-ten-t errors [ID10T.] Every well and every foot of pipeline are continually inspected by government and private scientists to make sure nothing can go wrong.

We are told it will take 10 years to bring oil from ANWAR, that of course is absolutely false. It took less than five years to bring the oil down from Prudhoe Bay Alaska to Port Valdez Alaska and that was with no inter structure in place, Today oil from ANWAR can be piggybacked off the existing pipe line. 20 thousand men and women built 800 miles of 48 inch pipe line in four years. Today the hard work has already been done the pipe line can be doubled with very little effort and withing three years that oil can be in the pumps in the 48 states.

When not hampered by government mandates [ie ] interference Americans are very inventive people, they're able go forth and preform where most can't. An example, in 1940 America was in a depression, many of it's factories were idle. Less than two years later America was an industrial giant producing war materials for half the world. All it took was motivation, today we have that motivation and it's called $ 4.00 a gallon gas.

The problem is not oil it's politics. We have a two party system that doesn't give a damn about the publics wants and needs all the Washingtonians care about is their own survival. Obama is correct this country needs change but not his brand. We need to change congress and start over with men and women who understand the 21st century and what it will take to survive in this new technological world.

My friends please don't vote the same old same old, use some thought before you cast your ballot. The most important vote you will cast in 2008 is who will be sent to congress, that's where the real power is moving to.
