Give Your Soul The Greatest Gift

Josia Nakash
People often think of Kabbalah as a religion. This is a common misconception that is bundled in with a bunch of other misconceptions surrounding this special body of knowledge.

The truth is that Kabbalah explains the source of everything in this world. But since it was concealed from us until our souls would be ready to receive it, we made something up in the meantime to compensate ourselves.

As unpleasant as it may be to hear, we created religion to keep us motivated about the future until we would be ready to receive the real thing. Religion gives us something to look forward to and that placates our body and the fives senses we were given for exploring this world.

All this was intended to happen exactly like this so that we would eventually discover a sixth sense. A special sense for attaining everything beyond our world. For attaining eternity.

Religious people believe that doing certain acts in this world will get you a reward in the next world. Kabbalah is very opposite to that because it’s all about doing certain acts to get your reward right now! Here in this world. While you’re still alive and in the physical body your soul is currently dressed in.

People who study Kabbalah (from the word ‘receive’ in Hebrew) are doing so for one very simple purpose -- to receive as much filling through that sixth sense in the fastest and most efficient manner possible. Because this type of filling or Light that connects us to eternity is all there really is for us to truly enjoy. We’ve exhausted all other means of fulfillment since there is just so much food, entertainment, and material goods our body and five senses can handle. Enough already! Our souls are crying for more!

So what do we do in the meantime? Cling to what we know, and what we know is religion. We cling to religious concepts, people and places since we are not aware of there being something more satisfying to cling to.

Just to give you an example, I have family here from Canada at the moment, and the only thing they are really interested in is visiting all the holy sites. They have traveled all the way here from British Columbia and instead of just chilling out on the beach eating ice cream they are schlepping to Jerusalem and Zefat just so they can enjoy being near some of the holiest places in the world for a few hours. Why is that so important to them?

Does it make them feel better? Yes.

Does it make them feel safer? Definitely.

Is that what God needs from us? Not really.

God doesn’t want us to cling to Him as children. He put this whole plan in action so that we could rise up to His level and cling to Him as equals. That is the reason why He created us in the first place. He made us totally opposite to him so that we would have to independently work our way back up to Him.

So imagine my relatives knowing what I know. That the holiest place of all, the place where I connect with the upper force ruling everything -- with eternity -- that place is inside of me! I don’t have to get in my car and go anywhere to be close to it because I take it with me wherever I go. Granted, a religious person would say the same thing. But the difference is that they have no measurable way of calculating that feeling inside. Beyond feeling good about it, they have no logical means for multiplying and accelerating that feeling in an exponential manner on a day to day basis. Because they are working with their body and the five senses that come with it, while people who study Kabbalah rise above their physical body and our world to work with a sixth sense -- a sense that is capable of absorbing the abundant Light around us today, and calculating how to receive more of it tomorrow. A sense that connects them to eternity where we are all in perfect harmony with nature.

My relative asked me to explain the feeling of this sixth sense. I’m a bit sorry now that I just gave him the standard answer: that you can’t explain the color red to a blind person. What I really should have said was something a lot more emotional, something that would have hit a nerve. After all, this is someone I spent my whole childhood with and nothing would make me happier than to see him discover the meaning of his life. What I should have said is, “You know that incredible feeling you have when you’re skiing? Multiply that feeling by about a million and you will have an idea of what having that sixth sense can give you.” That would have made him stop and think.

You know why? Because skiing was pretty much our religion back in those days and probably still is for him. It pretty much ranked #1 on our list of priorities since there is nothing quite like carving your way down a mountain in perfect harmony with nature. All those exhilarating sports like surfing and sailing that bring you into such close contact with nature are all practiced quite religiously and for good reason. For a few precious moments, they help us rise above everything in this world and experience a connection to something higher, purer and so much more worthwhile than our everyday life.

Now imagine being able to connect to that higher place whenever you want. Without getting into your car, traveling to a certain place or doing a certain thing. Imagine feeling it ALL THE TIME. Every waking moment. Imagine knowing that thanks to you thousands of other people will be able to experience this incredible sensation that is far more enjoyable than anything attained through our five senses, or our physical body.

Imagine setting your soul free! Let it rip across mountains, oceans, galaxies and other universes. Let it go where it has been yearning to get to since the beginning of time. All you have to do is agree to let your soul take this life-altering trip and it will happen.

Why should you? Because after all the trials and tribulations our souls have been through for thousands of years, we’ve finally reached the last and most important phase of our development. Kind of like a bonus at the end of the trail.

God has been saving the best part for last and the greatest thing you can do for Him in this life is accept this gift! Embrace this gift with your heart and soul so all of mankind can finally get back on track and rise up to a much more enjoyable state of being.

The ultimate adrenaline pumping action is yet to come. It’s all inside of you waiting to happen.
