What is an Organic Bloom Enhancer?

Michael Straumietis
If you really want to unleash the full potential of your hydroponics system, you should definitely invest in an organic bloom enhancer. If you grow fruits or vegetables, a bloom enhancer will dramatically increase your yield and improve the flavor of your produce. If you grow flowers, you will see bigger buds and brighter colors than anything you may have experienced in the past. But what exactly do they put in these bloom enhancers that create such dramatic results? In reality it is not anything particularly special or secret. It is simply a combination of ingredients designed to activate enough photosynthesis, nutrient uptake, and cell division to help you enjoy the most out of your plants. Here are a few things commonly found in high quality organic bloom enhancers.

B Vitamins - For your plants to truly grow to their full potential, they need a boost from B vitamins. These vitamins, which include thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin, are designed to stimulate plant metabolism allowing your plants to make much more efficient use of provided nutrients. In an organic bloom enhancer, these B vitamins come from completely organic sources usually yeast cell cultures. These B vitamins may give you the power to safely increase your nutrient concentrations and see better results because they allow your plants to uptake those nutrients at a faster rate.

Bat Guano - Guano is one of the oldest fertilizers used by man, first being used by the ancient Inca civilization. The ingredients and nutrients have the potent ability to improve flowering and the taste in fruit. The guano used in organic bloom enhancers is usually very high in phosphorus which can be an important stimulant to the flowering stage of plant development.

Amino Acids - Proteins help build your plant, transfer nutrients within your plant and serve metabolic functions as well. The building blocks of these proteins are amino acids which are often a key ingredient in many organic bloom enhancers. The extra amino acid boost can also help your plants recover from stressful conditions, such as excess heat, and help prevent damage from such conditions.

Seaweed - One of the most powerful ingredients you can find in an organic bloom enhancer is seaweed or kelp extract. These contain powerful plant hormones that can stimulate plant development. They also increase root size and thickness, giving them a greater ability to soak up nutrients.

Carbohydrates - Your plants already produce their own carbohydrates through photosynthesis. This is a required element for your plants to grow and process nutrients. But organic bloom enhancers often contain more carbohydrates to give your plants that extra energy push that they need to fully develop.

Organic bloom enhancers are also ideal for use alongside products that contain beneficial bacteria, as the organic materials give the microbes the perfect environment to duplicate and thrive. If you are growing your plants hydroponically, it is important that you only buy an organic bloom enhancer designed for hydroponics. Many products are only tested for use on soil gardens, so you may not see the full benefit with them. Be sure to pick up organic bloom enhancers specially designed for hydroponics gardening if that is the case.

Hello. My name is Michael Straumietis. I am the co-founder of Advanced Nutrients, an international marketer and manufacturer of agricultural, home & garden, hydroponics plant nutrients and soil less fertilizers. With an inherent green thumb, I began studying and practicing gardening & hydroponics at a very early age. In university, I explored the fundamental processes of plant life at the molecular level. After years of perfecting my knowledge and skills, I formed Advanced Nutrients to share my expertise in hydroponics, plant nutrition and soil science. In my spare time, I love to work in my garden and yard and I also have a small greenhouse where I experiment with new formulas and techniques. I also publish my knowledge in short original papers with a focus on accelerating growth, increasing yield, and improving soil-plant interaction. If you would like my free newsletter, sign up now. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you here at American Chronicle and making new, lifelong friends. Good luck!
