WHEN DISRESPECT KNOWS NO LIMITS-US SOLDIER FIRING AT THE HOLY QURAN

The Holy Quran is the holiest book and a US soldier has carried out the rudest, crudest, and most disrespectful action by firing at it at a firing range in Radwaniya, Iraq. This is not the first incident of its kind rather in the past some of the US soldiers were found to have flushed the Holy Quran in a toilet and meted out extremely inhuman treatment to detainees in Abu Ghraib Prison in Iraq and Guantanamo Base in Cuba. This is a gross disrespect and filled with hatred for Islam, Muslims, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Holy Qur´an. Nothing that anyone does to the Qur´an—sitting on it, standing on it, kicking it—diminishes the Power of the Word contained in this Book to transform human life. This manifests gross ignorance, contempt and hatred of those who do these acts for a Book that was revealed for the elevation of all human beings. It is good that President Bush has apologized and so has the army commander in Iraq, but justice demands that the soldiers who carried out such a despicable action must also be punished. On the other hand it is believed among the majority of Muslims that this anti-Muslim behavior has its roots high up in the Government of the United States of America and is being preached from various pulpits by certain highly influential Christian leaders. We have seen and heard, from the time of 9/11, many respected Christian leaders saying that Islam is a religion of violence and hatred; that the Religion of Islam sees Christians and Jews as infidels and teaches that they should be killed; and that the God of Islam or the God of Muslims is the devil. This has created an atmosphere of hatred, fanned by the media that causes many in the US Army going to show extreme disrespect for Muslims, the Holy Prophet, and the Holy Quran. The disrespect of the Holy Qur´an, a Book believed in by 1,600,000,000 Muslims, is unacceptable. However Muslims just can not sit idle and complain but needs to take certain actions which will stop identical abuses against their religion, Prophet, and sacred book. Whether you are a head of a state or a person using your own head you must respond and contribute towards a unified strategy with the following elements:
LIBERATE THE OCCUPIED LANDS:
Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan has been forcibly occupied. It is the duty of every Muslim to get rid of the occupiers who are not only occupying the Muslim lands but who are also insulting Islam, the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad. Occupation of Muslim lands in itself is a disrespect which must be put to an end. Muslims should rise to the occasion and get rid of the illegal occupation of their lands and resources. Will the American keep quite even if one meter of their land is occupied by Muslims then why are they occupying Muslim lands and disrespecting its religion.
OPPOSE THE OCCUPIERS:
It is estimated today the Muslim population consist of 1,600,000,000 persons. That is more than a billion people. More than a billion people can not be cowed down, can not be killed, and can not be eliminated from the face of the earth. However this 1.6 billion of the world population must also react with a single voice towards hatred, disrespect, and humiliation by the occupiers. Believe me if the 1.6 billion Muslims stamp their feet on the earth at one time there will be an earthquake. But the Muslims should not do that rather oppose the occupiers economically, politically, socially, and militarily. Muslims must boycott their products and see what happens to their businesses.
SHOW DISPLEASURE:
Insult to the Holy Quran is not only an insult to the book but to the whole people. Muslims must show their displeasure by talking to non-Muslims, writing about IT, or using any other method to communicate to the world that IT IS NOT OK TO INSULT US. At least you must send e-mails to the addresses in your file, expressing sad feelings triggered by the un-civil acts of the US soldiers and others acting disrespectful like this.
The US prides itself with civility and possessing one of the best and most professional army in the world. However the actions by many members of the US army prove their claim otherwise. It will not be wrong to say that some of the soldiers of the US army are un-lettered, un-civil, non-professional exhibiting the meanest behavior which will put to shame even animals. Whether it is insulting the Holy Quran, or rapping women in Okinawa in Japan or the Phillipines, or insulting helpless detainees in Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo the US Army personnel has proved themselves to be the most unprofessional, culturally ignorant, and not worthy of setting their feet on others lands. The culprits must be punished, the top leader must take responsibility of getting rid of such elements, and everyone must condemn these despicable actions.
