Back pain home remedies can take care of or at least comfort any kind of back problem. The general cause of back pain is a muscular sprain, which gives rise to pain as you move. If a pain suddenly emerges in your back, it could either be due to a sudden jerk or injury or could also be the result of an underlying problem lingering inside your body.

Hot & Cold Treatment

Conventional back pain home remedies include use of heat or ice. Heat is a more commonly used medium for relief for back pain from pain. It is not only easily available at home but also gives instant relief to the painful area. It relaxes the stiffened muscles and in the process soothes the pain. For ice packs, you can use packets of frozen vegetables or make an ice pack by wrapping crushed ice in a plastic bag or a piece of cloth. Ice may not feel as comfortable, but it also helps a great deal. It acts by first tightening the muscles and then relaxing them as you remove the ice pack. Combining the hot and cold treatment is also a common practice in households. Wet towels are generally used for this purpose.

Exercise For A Healthy Back

Exercise is also among common back pain home remedies. Exercise plays a very important role in cure and maintaining of a healthy back. At the time of backache, start by doing light exercises and as you feel better, add some more back exercises to your regime. The exercises give relief from pain and stiffness and also prevent the problem from recurring. Stretching in between any work that requires long hours of sitting in one particular posture is also helpful. Light exercises can be easily carried out at home and do not require any equipment.

Massage is another cure which is widely used at homes. It also works by comforting back muscles, reducing pain in the process. The gentle rubbing generates mild heat, which cause the muscles to relax. The caring touch of a loved one is very heartening and that too makes massage so effective.

But in the end, we must add that in cases of severe problem, back pain home remedies may not prove very helpful. So, if the problem continues for more than two weeks, it could indicate a more serious problem like osteoporosis or a slipped disk. In such circumstances, one should contact a physician and seek medical attention.

Back pain home remedies have been helping people for decades, much before the advent of special products and medical services in our lives. These back pain remedies provide assured relief for back pain.
