The brother of legendary musician-singer-songwriter Paul McCartney flew into a rage in a British court yesterday and demanded "don't you know who I am?" after he was accused of groping the bottom of a teenage waitress, according to The Telegraph.

Michael McCartney, 61, is charged with sexually assaulting the 16-year-old at a family party at a pub in September 2004, but the photographer and former member of 1960s English band The Scaffold denies the allegation.

The court heard the alleged victim, who could not be identified due to British law, was clearing plates from a function room when McCartney allegedly touched her bottom as he asked for more food.

The prosecutor, Deborah Gould, said, "As the complainant was clearing the plates, the defendant approached her from behind, put the palm of his left hand on the top of her leg, slid it up to her right buttock and he left it there.

"He kept his hand on her bottom while he asked her if there was any tempura left.

"The complainant had never heard of tempura and did not know what he meant.

"In any event, she was upset and embarrassed by the defendant's behavior in putting his hand on her bottom."

The court heard that the victim and another waitress reported the alleged groping to the pub manager, who confronted McCartney.

Miss Gould said, "The defendant flew into a rage. Although he denied the allegation, he was abusive and extremely angry."

McCartney is then alleged to have refused to leave the pub, saying: "I'm famous, I've been well known for over 60 years.

"Don't you know who I am? All these young girls are only after one thing - some money from me."

The pub manager then called the police who responded and took McCartney into custody.

When McCartney was interviewed by the police in October 2004, he denied the allegation, saying, "I'm sorry... as far as the top of the leg and the bottom are concerned, there is no way that I would touch a girl's or a lady's bottom in my life."
