Takeover of Major U.S. Ports by UAE

Alex Zakson
The Bush Administration has always put the interest of the Petroleum producers ahead of every other consideration. Now it is doing it again by allowing DPW a United Arab Emirates state-owned company to take over the management of several critical United States ports. What?s next, Kuwait managing airport security and Saudi Arabia managing warrantless spying on Americans?

Undaunted by bipartisan opposition, Mr. Bush cannot see the difference between United Kingdom (home to the current company) and United Arab Emirates (the owner of DPW), and is threatening to veto legislation that would block this action. How can Bush not see that there is a difference between a free democratic government that is a long time friend and ally, and an autocratic government that not too long ago embraced the Taliban, bred two of the 9/11 terrorists, and provided the means for the 9/11 terrorists to get funding for their despicable act. And how come our MBA president does not understand the difference between a public corporation and a state-owned company?
