Weyane´s Nauseating Tantrums

Berhane Alazar
One of Beatles´ songs goes something like this:

"Cry Baby Cry

Make your mother sigh

She´s old enough to know better

So cry baby cry"

I think the meaning is clear. For example, some kids may keep on doing some nuisance believing their mothers may allow them to get away with some unacceptable behavior. That is exactly how the TPLF leaders act whenever they feel that someone is admonishing them with some criticism no matter how mild and ineffective that criticism might be. They simply can not stand to be told that they are dead wrong on some universally accepted truth. Instead it is the usual but tired Eritrea bashing tactic that they like to use as their scapegoat to hide all of their miseries.

I thought a little modification of the above Beatles´ lyric might reflect precisely the behavior of the Weyanes, by going something like this:

"Cry Weyane Cry

By screaming at your handlers ´Oh my´

They foolishly vested on your obedience to bid you now ´bye!´

Go ahead Weyane sob and cry"

It is not without an apparent reason that the US administration and its usually non assuming western allies keep on supporting the TPLF regime in Ethiopia in spite of its belligerent and disruptive bullying activities it routinely carries out in the Horn of Africa neighborhood. In their geopolitical interests, as far fetched and as shortsighted as it may be, the US sees the Weyane as the most obedient servant that would do the West´s bidding of regional hegemony and dominance at the expense of the peoples of the region. In fact the Weyane has turned out to be a uniquely qualified and undignified servant of the West´s national interest (political and economic dominance) in the greater Horn of Africa region. Otherwise, who, in his right mind, would stoop so low as the Weyane has been doing for just some alms it gets from its masters who may not have the best interest of Africa, Ethiopia or definitely the lowly Weyanes themselves?

The latest drama of temper tantrum manifestation by the rulers of our southerly neighbor has been, from all things the subject of the "Rule of law" and the "lack of action against Eritrea" by the equally unprincipled and corrupt United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and its secretariat. The driving theater the Weyane bad actors chose was the "Algiers Agreement" signed by both a principled and law-abiding Eritrea and the ever flip-flopping and opportunist Weyanes we all have come to know and disdain.

Mind you, after they have done all they could to derail the implementation of the legally binding Ethio-Eritrea border rule; and after they had played any and every tricks up their sleeves to frustrate the demarcation of the Eritrea Ethiopia Border Commission final decision , they have the nerve to suggest that the "Rule of Law" must be respected. It is kind of the fox accusing the lamb of biting it! One wonders what kind of hallucinating drugs these people are consuming and when, if ever, are they going to understand that their making of mockery of justice will never pay.

Actually, it is not clear even if the Weyanes themselves know who their intended audience might be of such outlandish make-believe stories they like to repeat for themselves. Because in the final analyses, unless someone just arrived from Mars or from some outer space which only the Weyanes can dream about, all concerned people surely must know that nobody believes whatever it is the Weyanes utter, not even the gullible Americans. Whatever the Weyane say, it is either an outright lie or something they would most likely fail to repeat it when a second opportunity arises. When one thinks of it, though, they can´t really remember what they have said or written about - since it is not in their nature to state things as they are but as they wish they were. That is the Weyane style, a style that comes from being a perpetual and pathological liar; and from one that does not have self confidence and self esteem. I guess that would be asking too much - for to be sincere and truthful takes some guts which the Weyanes clearly lack.

The Weyanes may flounder the law and "run from justice" for now, but they can not hide for long; and when everything is said and done and at the end of the day, the interests of all the peoples of the Horn of Africa would be served with the inevitable demise of the Malelit gangs. As to Eritrea and its legal issues, everybody, including the UNSC, knows Eritrea is standing on firm ground and that it will recover its lands, which are currently and shamelessly occupied by the Weyane army in due course without firing a shot.

Nobody knows better than Eritrea that war seldom solves anything and as such Eritrea´s option remains peace and development. But, as the Tigrigna saying goes "zeysneKa Hutsa qorTmelu", whereas the Weyanes see the Ethiopian youngsters who have been conscripted to join the Weyane army as disposable items, Eritrea sees them as something precious human beings that should not be pushed to death and destruction to "resolve" an issue that has already been legally resolved. That is the crux of the matter. As H.E. President Isaias of Eritrea once stated, we will indeed be patient for our land is going nowhere that we can not eventually retrieve. So, it would be advisable for Weyanes to quit threatening of what they can do to Eritrea, knowing darn well they can´t deliver anything by empty bravado. Instead let them abide by the rule of law in practical sense and not as a mere political expediency to hopelessly buy time to achieve their evil conspiracy against Eritrea. Let´s face it; the Weyane´s evil design of subjugating Eritrea simply isn´t going to happen for the ever steadfastness of its people and unequivocal heroism of its armed forces remains intact!

Long live the solidarity of all the peoples of the Horn!

Happy Independence Day Eritrea!
