DREAMS COMING TRUE, HOW SHEERAZ HASSAN A PAKISTANI MADE IT BIG IN HOLLYWOOD
Dream on as dreams come true. Dreams can surely come true if one backs it up with sincere prayers and that is what happened to Sheeraz Hassan. Who is Sheeraz Hassan? You may not heard about him but if you read this story you will tremendously respect him and learn few tips from him for realizing your dreams. The story goes that Sheeraz Hassan a Pakistani settled in UK was 16, his father died, leaving him, his mother, and his older brother Suhail to run the family business. Sheeraz immediately proved himself an able entrepreneur. Fortune Magazine quotes that "over the next eight years he spearheaded the family's effort to find a bigger restaurant, secure a 24-hour license, and--when he was informed that the name "Bloomsbury" was trademarked--changed the restaurant's name to Tinseltown. "I kept reading in the papers how celebrities went to parties in Tinseltown. So I thought if I called my restaurant Tinseltown, I'd get celebrities coming here too." Within two years of moving, the restaurant saw its sales expand to $35,000 a week, from $2,000. However that was not the end for him. Fortune further reports that "Sheeraz's first big break came in April 2002, in a melodramatic scene that could have come right out of a Bollywood musical. A practicing Muslim, Sheeraz was performing his Friday prayers at the foot of the famous HOLLYWOOD sign. (He still visits that spot, appealing openly to Allah for wealth and A-list endorsements.) Michael Levy--a onetime agent of Marlon Brando's and Elizabeth Taylor's and now a prolific producer of films, including Prelude to a Kiss--was visiting a friend and noticed a tearful Sheeraz returning to his car. Recalls Michael Levy "This guy was so passionate about launching his company, he was crying. How could I not be impressed?" "And he had this terrific idea of packaging a show for the Bollywood audience. Of course, it helped that he looked the part for Indian TV. " They talked awhile, exchanged phone numbers, and arranged to meet at Levy's office on Wilshire Boulevard in ten days. The meeting was a success, and within a month--armed with Levy's support--Sheeraz had persuaded the Indian executives at New York--based Bollywood 4 U, a satellite provider of Indian shows to immigrant communities in the U.S., to give him a prime-time television spot on the B4U channels throughout India. "I promised them celebrities, basically," says Sheeraz. "When the guy asked to see the pilot I acted insulted, after I'd come all that way from L.A. Of course I didn't have a pilot. I didn't even have a camera!" Levy found Sheeraz a lawyer, who agreed to close the deal free, leaving Sheeraz with a contract for 52 shows a year and an on-air date in six weeks. Though it was a huge opportunity. But it also presented a huge problem: Sheeraz had promised celebrities, yet had never spoken to one, much less secured any interviews. So Sheeraz hit the phones--with numbers courtesy of Levy's Rolodex--and began schmoozing celebrities' publicists. "I told them, 'Look, I got 500 million fans in Bollywood, all over India, who are desperate to hear about this movie....' I was really polite about it. If someone asks you something really politely and it's so easy for you to do, how can you say no?" Once he got past the publicists, Sheeraz also quickly endeared himself to his interviewees, lobbying a series of softball questions. One of Sheeraz's trademarks: asking stars about their spiritual life. "My first-ever question was to Eddie Murphy," recalls Sheeraz. " 'What do you do spiritually to stay grounded in this industry?' " It's an appealing question to Hollywood denizens, especially those with interests in Hinduism or Buddhism, many of whom assume from Sheeraz's skin color that he shares their beliefs. He had produced and hosted over two-hundred episodes of his multiple-award winning program ´Tinseltown TV´, which broadcasted to 500-million people in 130 countries, and he built the bridge between the two biggest film industries in the world, Hollywood, representing 3.6 billion worldwide fans, and Bollywood, representing 3.8 billion worldwide fans.
What did Sheeraz had which made him so successful? Sheeraz story epitomizes four main themes dreams, the power of prayers, hard work and dogged determination and persistence. God has engineered all of us for great things and we must dream of becoming successful and achieving great things in life. So first thing first dream big dreams and when the nay-sayers and pessimists discourage you think of people like Sheeraz the only thing which they have is the power of big dreams. Imagine what you wish to achieve, start seeing it achieved, and believe that it will be achieved and achieve you will.
Secondly we human beings must realize that nothing happens in this planet without God´s blessings and permission and almost any thing can happen when God wills. So if you want impossible things happening to you ask God and the promise of God is that He will give. Holy Quran states that the only MIGHTY POWER God who says 'Kun Faya Kun' (So be it) and it really happens Every religion advocates its followers to seek help through supplications and prayers. In Islam Dua or Supplication is highly encouraged for every human being. The Holy Prophet Muhammad is reported to have called Dua (supplication) as the weapon of a beliver. Let me also quote yet another quote of the Holy Prophet "Verily our Lord is ashamed (i.e. shy) of His servants when they raise up their hands to Him in supplication to return them empty". So pray on with conviction and you will be pleasantly surprised that whatever you want shall be granted.
Dreams and prayers are good but God operate this universe on certain principles and one of them is that for anything to happen people must first precede it with hard work and struggle.
Finally big dreamers are also highly focussed on their dreams and determined to see it happening. Persistence, never giving up and dogged determination is needed to achieve whatever a person dreams about. As we move forward towards our goals and dreams setbacks and problems may occur but we should never give up and just do what is required and right and it will be realized. Albert Einstein once said "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer."
Dream on and never give up your dreams as dreams do become reality. Dream crazy and impossible dreams as is does not cost a penny the worst which may happen is you will not achieve what you dream of. However if you study the life and success secret of great people including Sheeraz Hassan you will realize that dreams, backed by passionate prayers and supplications, dogged determination and tenacity, and pure hard work do come true. So apply these principles but before you leave let me ask you a question. What is your big dream?
