How About a Little More Rebellion: Letter to the X & Y Generations from a Boomer
Quit giving up so easily, wimping out.
Why do you listen to our tired music on Jack radio?
Why do know more about music from the 1970s than I do? In fact, why do play 80s retread music?
We said we were the only generation to count, we scoffed in the face of our parents, why don't you?
We don't expect you to give up so easily.
Want proof? We couldn't keep President Bush out of the White House! Need any more evidence that you are needed to change things?!
We expect you to rise and come up with something we could never even have thought of that you got from the great information highway we left you!
We expect you to take everything we taught you and throw it to the wall, and show us a new way to put everything back together again!
I am counting on you, now get some backbone and go out and rebel!
PS: By the way, rebelling isn't getting high and killing each other...been there, done that, that's how you lose, not how you win.
You are smart, healthy, respectful and have an inner strength and wisdom at times beyond anything that came before you.
We gave you awareness of environmental issues, peace and global information and awareness. Not too shabby if I do say so.
But now we need you to punch through this baby boomer womb, and knock us over with your own cocky assurance that you know better. I am - we are - counting on you!
