Barack Obama wants American to believe the Impossible
He expects them to believe that he sat in a church for 20 years and had no idea of the black liberation theology that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was preaching. Obama wants Americans to believe that the man he called his mentor never discussed his political views with him. He then wants us to believe that he NEVER heard any of whacked out statements by Wright. We are also to believe his wife, Michelle, never heard them either. Not one parishioner picked up the phone and said, "You should have heard what Pastor Wright said today."
To believe the above one would have to conclude that he was there in name only, but not a real attendee of Trinity United Church of Christ. Another option is that his family had no friends at Trinity outside of the leadership, which is an opportunistic move, not a spiritual one. Or, He lied to the American people.
Let´s say for the moment he lied. Why lie? One, Black Liberation Theology is sort of like the Black Panther and Black Nationalist movement. It constantly makes white people out to be the enemy and blacks as a struggling underclass being kept in his place by the "man". The problem is that view is being taught from the pulpit and wrapped in theology. Two, He would have to reveal that this BLT teaches that Jesus is Black. Third, that it is so focused on race that little else matters.
If we believe that Barack Obama did knowingly ascribe to the views of this Church, which membership requires, then he ascribed to a view that is in direct opposition to the platform that he is running on.
So, what are we to believe when it is clear that Barack Obama has failed to be forthcoming with his views? There is no need for another speech or throwing someone else under the bus because at some point the truth is going to come out, and then what will he try to convince us of then?
No reasonable person could be expected to believe that two Ivy League law school graduates had no clue of the message Jeremiah Wright ascribed to. No reasonable person could possibly believe that they never heard statements that maligned America. Other famous people, like Oprah, went and when they heard the messages left the Church. The Obamas stayed and gave over $60,000 to the Church over the last three years alone.
Barack Obama is playing a game with the American people. He tells what he wants, how he wants, and then shuts down any conversation. It would seem the throwing the Pastor under the bus speech really was about ego and political expediency, and not true character.
He has made this campaign about judgment, and it is clear, if we are to believe his version, that he lacks good judgment. If he got taken on a 20 year ride by Jeremiah Wright, as he wants us to believe, what does that say about him? It says a lot, but none of what Obama wants said.
