Central heating boilers
The performance of central heating boilers has considerably improved since their invention, especially over the last twenty years. Some advanced technologies such as low temperature condensation, now offer excellent benefits in terms of fuel usage, comfort and reducing pollution.
By operating central heating boilers at lower temperature, it will bring more savings and create a more pleasant environmental temperature. Compared to 20 years ago, a modern standard boiler can make savings in consumption of around 12 to 15%.
Even if set at a low-temperature these boilers provide a feeling of comfort which is particularly pleasant. But remember that all gas equipment must be installed by a professional technician; saving a few pounds by hiring an incompetent engineer could have very dangerous repercussions.
If properly installed by a qualified gas engineer, a boiler will serve you well with thousands of hours of un-interrupted use, while still being very efficient in terms of the amount of heat it will put out , compared to the amount of energy consumed.
These central heating systems cope amazingly well with huge temperature differences between running at full temperatures and the dropping down near freezing if the system is shut don during any period of the winter months.
These highly efficient units can however, on occasion, require expensive maintenance; you should there for make sure that you are adequately covered with a central heating insurance package for your central heating system , preferably one that covers regular maintenance or emergency repairs in its policy terms. Remember that there can be no safe substitute for a highly competent service engineer.
