Barak Obama: Media's Elitists Throwing Stones

Stan Grimes
I guess the Republicans and Hillary are having their day in the sun. All the mud thrown across media talk shows and news hours because of Barakīs "bitter" statement and his ministerīs "god *#%*# America," has done the intended damage. One has to wonder what it will take for conservative Christians and spouting television newscasters to stand back and look at the issues tearing our nation at the seams. Iīm not sure what motivates some of these elitists, who tell it like they see it, elitists.

Thatīs right, Iīm calling guys like Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and a hundred more, elitists. If you think these guys go to their sweltering homes on Main Street America, eat canned spaghetti, and sleep in cockroach-infested bedrooms, youīre dead wrong. They are elitists in every sense of the word. The last time any of them have had to take a cold shower was when they saw the photo of Brittney Spearsī exiting her automobile a few months ago.

I wonder too, why it makes me smirk when guys like Glenn Beck speaks of how media vultures should lay off this person or that person when in fact he is a part of the multi-billion industry labeled media. He is a part of this collective bunch of high profile elitists crowned, baptized, or bestowed as the "experts" on almost everything, except reality. If they understood reality, they wouldnīt say half of the sewer-coated things they deliver to their poor naïve audiences.

Do these media talking heads really know, in fact, when those of us have lost hope in our government, our so-called leaders, we tend to cling to those things in which we do have hope, ie., guns, religion, family, and our cardboard homes? Do they understand when Reverend Wright said "god damn America," that some of us have said the same thing. Our leaders should be damned for what they have managed to do to our country over the past twenty years. They have ripped the Jeffersonian ideals out of our hands. They have reversed the direction of greatness our country was once pointed towards. If our forefathers could return today, my guess is they would shake their heads and go back to Europe. Trouble is they couldnīt get a flight.

So what can I do? I can only do what every citizen old enough can do, vote. Yes, vote. We must somehow trust our candidates. Can any of them be trusted? I donīt know, maybe. Voters can only make that individual decision. No one is in the voting booth with you. Is it time to stop the spiraling or is it time to start climbing the steps? I learned something as a kid growing up in the Midwest. If everyone is throwing rocks at you, you must be either Black, poor, different, or smart. You be the judge why all the rocks are being thrown at Mr. Barak Obama.
