Central Texas School District Profile: Eanes ISD
With six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, Eanes ISD earned a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency Academic Excellence Indicator System for the 2006-07 school year.
All of the schools in Eanes ISD, except for the high school, received Exemplary status from TEA for 2007, including Barton Creek Elementary, Bridge Point Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Eanes Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Valley View Elementary, Hill Country Middle, and West Ridge Middle Schools. Only two high schools in Central Texas received Recognized status from TEA for 2007 which included Westlake.
Among Westlake High School students for the 2007-08 school year were 26 National Merit semifinalists and 30 National Merit commended students. In addition to the stellar ratings from TEA, each school within Eanes ISD has been a recipient of the Texas Successful School Award for Outstanding Performance from TEA. This award distinguishes schools that have shown consistently high standards or have made outstanding progress in their educational goals.
The U.S. Department of Education honors schools that excel in academics in their states or demonstrate exceptional gains in student achievement with the distinction of National Blue Ribbon Schools. Eanes ISD schools receiving this honor include Barton Creek Elementary, Eanes Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Hill Country Middle, West Ridge Middle, and Westlake High.

Eanes Elementary received a Promising Practices award from TEA for its Early Childhood program. Bridge Point Elementary received Promising Practices awards from the Character Education Partnership for 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Recognized as a Model School by the National Endowment for the Arts, West Ridge Middle School also received the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which was established to honor and recognize outstanding volunteer programs within the United States.
