Looking Back at Death, Anita

According to a 2003 Harris poll online survey, 84% of U.S. adults believe in the survival of the soul after death. So said 89% of women and 78% of men in the survey group.



What happens to the soul after death is a mystery. However, there are some who think they might be able to shed a little light on that subject. They've earned the label Near Death Experiencer. As such, they've "been there, done that".

One of the most incredible Near Death experiences I have ever run across is from a woman who describes, with explicit detail, her near death recovery from Cancer (Hodgkin's Lymphoma). Documented on a website that is collecting data on Near Death Experiences world wide. The first thing to note: each NDE is unique.

Long story short; Anita had a window during her in between state that offered a glimpse of two outcomes. If she chose to die, the certificate would read ___. If she chose to live, it would read ____. Given the information she was exposed to and her feelings about what life now had to offer as a result, she felt her life could serve a purpose and chose to remain. She also had information that it was not her time to die but whatever decision was made would be up to her.

In her words, "I found out that my purpose would now be to live "Heaven on Earth" using this new understanding, and also to share this knowledge with other people."

The encounter Anita describes is vivid, detailed, and offers a wonderful perspective on a greater picture than we have access to on the manifest plane. She certainly acquired some inspiring wisdom worth checking out. Of all the nuggets she tosses out - one basic concept is:

"I look at everything in our reality, including things like illness and aging, so differently. I challenge anything that is considered "natural" or "normal". To me now, everything feels like human construct -- that is, just another product of personal and mass belief. Having had the experience I have, it feels like nothing is real, but every single possibility exists. I now live knowing that I can create my own reality based on these new truths that I have learned."

Anita's story alone will make you stop and think or stop and re-think life. But there are other amazing stories as well. The site has over 1600 personal accounts of NDE's. Anita´s resonates so well with me because the basic information she offers is similar to what I was given as I wrote the book Talking to Nightlights. It was no accident I stumbled across her account.

When we are open to receive information, it comes in whatever form we will allow. Poking around in that material also led me to another resource to validate my own life-affirming metaphysical experience with automatic writing, which I much prefer to that of nearly dying. Given my journalist background, Ruth Montgomery was an inspiration.



Anita´s vividly detailed near death experience offers hope and inspiration to others who would like a peek at the hereafter without having to go through the drama/trauma of having the life scared back into us.

An interesting correlation comes from all this. Apparently, no matter where we are in our life journey, whether in the process of living and/or dying, we have the power to create (and choose)our reality. Even better, sometimes, without trying, we can find what we are looking for.
