Jandaye Frazier meets representatives of 13 Eritrean opposition groups

A delegation representing 13 Eritrean opposition organizations met with the US Assistant Secretary of State Jandaye Frazier on Monday, according to Awate.com.
The five-person delegation arrived in USA one months ago in a tour representing the Eritrean opposition organizations that are preparing to hold their congress on May 5, 2008.
In a telephone conversation, head of the delegation, Adhanom Gebremariam told the opposition website that he "gave Frazier a detailed explanation regarding the upcoming May 5th Congress of the Eritrean political organizations." He also indicated that Eritrean civil societies and religious leaders would be attending the congress as observers.
The Assistant Secretary of State on her part said unity is strength and that she sympathizes with the suffering of the Eritrean people.
Several officials of the state department, including Sarah Skorupski, head of the Eritrean and Djibouti desk, were present at the meeting, it was learnt.
