Clinton or Obama, That Is The Question

Ken Hughes
Democrats have a difficult decision to make in the coming weeks, who to select as their nominee for president. There´s very little that [isn´t] known about Hillary Clinton. There´s very little that [is] known about Barack Obama. Obama claims he represents change but he has yet to define what he means by change, Obama has no experience in economics and less in foreign affairs. Checking Obama´s records there´s very little Obama is experienced in and his state and federal legislative records are pretty much a blank.

Hillary Clinton has been involved in politics since her university days. Early in her career she formed an alliance with a young man from Hot Springs Arkansas, The Honky Tonk´s in Hot Springs were the Harvard School of political corruption throughout the south. For several years any time spent in Hot Springs trumped any JD, MBA or PhD from any University in America. William Jefferson Clinton grew up in Hot Springs Arkansas.

Clinton knows and Obama has yet to learn what they´re going through now is child´s play compared to what´s coming after the conventions. John McCain may look and act like an old man but he´s as capable of political bravado as they are. John McCain is a person who doesn´t fear any man or anything, after what he went through for five and a half years at the hands of the North Vietnamese he´s oblivious to anything they can do to him. In case the Democratic candidates hadn´t noticed McCain still carries the scars of his incarceration, a constant reminder giving up is not an option.

It isn´t so much Clinton and Obama need worry about McCain as they do blogger´s. Blogger´s are the truth machines who search out and report well kept secrets candidate have kept buried for years. When the occasional blogger strays from the truth others will correct them. When candidates try to discredit the internet reports of misconduct it invariably escalates into proof positive and the candidate is usually the worse for wear.

Why this battle between Clinton and Obama has escalated into a battle royal is confusing. Perhaps it´s because the Republican candidate was selected so early and they only have themselves to take out their frustrations on. Or it could be this is the first time the video performances have outdone written words of explanation. Technology has caught up with political candidates via video phones, video internet reports, citizen reporters etc. In today´s campaigns there´s nowhere to hide and nowhere to hide their secrets.

Today it´s become fashionable for political candidates to admit to thing that a decade ago would have sent them packing, philandering, drug abuse, homosexuality, pedophilia and extortion to mention a few. It seems there´s no longer any sin in sin, anything can be forgiven if the candidate admits his or her frailties and apologizes.

For those of us who turned 65 before the turn of the 21st century we´re bewildered by the things that have become acceptable, not only in politics but in society as a whole. It seems the world is advancing at such a rapid pace it´s nearly impossible to keep up. The values our forefathers taught us have become passé, they´re scoffed at today as being old fashioned and meaningless. Two decades ago if teenagers dressed and acted like they do today they would have been arrested for vagrancy or prostitution. It´s as though each tries to outdo the other in pure ugliness.

They all do it who am I to judge?

Given the times we live in and current conditions whose to say this isn´t the way it should be. I gave up expecting the perfect politician and statesman to come along when Ronald Reagan left office.

There´re several things I do know and history supports me. Increasing taxes, expanding welfare, cozying up to Muslim terrorists and regulating the essentials necessary for mans livelihood isn´t the way to change America for the better. Leave Oil alone before the hypocrisy of it destroys us!

There´s never been a government who can out perform mans individual achievements when left to their own devices. By their very nature Bureaucrats are subservient not creative. Politicians and Bureaucrats are dropouts from the real world.
