Corporate Golf Events that Use Golf Instruction and Bonding as a 1, 2 Profit Punch by Charlie King
Build Business; Strengthen Relationships, and Increase Revenue. These are the goals of all companies. Golf has long been used as a business builder. A large number of business deals take place in and around the golf course. Weīve seen that stat and most of us have lived it for years. I am going to propose several steps to take this part of your business to another level.
1) Identify Your Most Critical Clients
First of all letīs commit to this definition of a client. A person under the care, guidance and protection of another. A commitment to this ideal alone can have a profound effect on your company. Now, letīs write down our top 10, 20 or 50 clients (depending on your type of business). This list then becomes the group that we focus our attention on. What would it cost you if you were to lose one or more of these critical clients? What are you currently doing to solidify your relationships with your most critical clients? Are you currently taking them for granted? I hope the answer to the last question is "no".
2) Create a Plan for Bonding with Them at a Deeper Level
This plan should include consistent and meaningful contact with these clients. There should be variety in each interaction. Educate and help them be more successful. Send fun and funny e-mails and letters (keep it clean, of course). Invite them to events that are memorable and create that deeper bond. We recommend at least a 10 step follow-up system. This would be built into a CRM software and customized to your company. You would have templates for the majority of the steps that allow for personalization. You would also have unique events like dinners, trips, seminars and, of course, golf and golf instruction.
3) Execute the Plan
Put an administrative staff member in charge of keeping you abreast of the daily activities that require phone calls or personalization. Enjoy treating your clients the way we all deserve to be treated. Make it meaningful and special. Become more trusted, respected and an expert in their eyes. The individuals and companies that commit to this level of caring, guiding and protecting their clients will retain their current clients and convert their prospective clients.
Follow these three steps to have a successful client bonding system.
There are several ways Reynolds Plantation wants to partner with you in providing the event portion of your client bonding system. I have built my career on integrity and feel obligated to give you a short commercial about us.
Reynolds Plantation's focus on partnering with the corporate community started with the opening of the Ritz Carlton Lodge, Oconee golf course and golf learning facility in 2002. The TaylorMade Performance Lab launched in 2005, Top 100 teacher Charlie King was hired in 2006, the Kingdom at Reynolds Plantation had a grand opening in 2007 and our Corporate Relationship Executive, Ray Hildebrand came on board in 2008. These events were not coincidental. They were part of an initiative to create a set of tools for our current and future corporate partners to use for growth and increased profit.
Go to the website listed at the beginning and end of this article to see the facilities and details on the programs.
