God is found in . . .
God is in the never-changing cycle of summer, autumn, winter, spring, that no human can stop. We see Him in the fluffy, cotton-wool clouds – or the ominous black ones that warn of an approaching storm.
Ignore that warning and lightning can strike any of us dead in a split second. God is in the opening of a rose; the transforming of a small acorn into a towering oak tree.
In every human we see the work of God. No two people have the same fingerprints, the same features, same voice. Many a dead person has been identified by dental records – each unique.
God´s imagination and creativity is in the stripes of the zebra, the long neck of the giraffe, the hump of a camel so convenient for a desert Bedouin to sit on.
Who else but God could create a different sunset every day?
God is even in the irritating fleas; they may seem of no value to humans but in WW2 they kept the Nazi guards out of a concentration camp barracks. Corrie Ten Boom and her sister Betsy held Bible studies while the guards stayed away, fearing flea bites. Was God in that? Yes indeed!
How about the variety in the speed of the gazelle and the slowness of the tortoise; the sprinting cheetah and the ponderous elephant?
A baby cannot speak but it sure can cry! That´s how God gave it the ability to make its needs known. How is it that a foal can get up on its feet immediately after birth? God made it that way. Likewise the eagle and a hundred varieties of birds (at least) can fly but humans cannot, except in an airplane.
Who else but God could give man the brain to create a motor car, a telephone, spaceship to the moon, design a three-storey mansion? Even a crow has enough brain power to drop a nut from a great height to crack it.
How ingenious that a skunk can protect itself merely by emitting a stink that other animals stay away from! Who else but God could give a kangaroo an inbuilt pouch to carry its young?
And us? Why are we so proud, thinking we are self-sufficient, when God can take us out of Planet Earth in a split second? How sobering it is to see a coffin lowered into the ground. One thing is certain; God is greater than us.
That being so, why do we ignore God when He has given us eyes to see all the things described? Some do see, and they have realized God can do all that. They have believed also that He sent Jesus to suffer on a cross, die and rise again to save their soul. They have responded.
Jesus is knocking at your door. Have you opened it?
