Is Americas Headed In The Wrong Direction, [Or Not]

Ken Hughes
If America´s headed in the wrong direction who will show it the right way? Who can point and say this is what needs to be done? Everyday the publics told reams of bad news, the media seems to believe printing anything positive about life in America will surely send them to hell before their time. Like children if the public is continually told thing are bad and are not told of the good they are only half informed, the wrong half I might add. Like children who aren´t given anything positive to savor the public suffers from low esteem and they pass it on like an infectious plague when there´s no antidote available.

Three quarters of a century ago we heard the same rhetoric from politicians with the same mindset. President Roosevelt told the public his "New Deal" consisting of government programs would save America. It didn´t, from 1930 to 1941 government interference in economic matters created the longest stagnant economy in this countries history. Roosevelt was the quintessential tax and spend government official. As we look back on the few accomplishments of the new deal and what a free market economy accomplished there´s no comparison, there´s no question government interference in economic matters costs a nation its future.
