Muhammad Cartoon Controversy: Clash of Centuries

Robert Paul Reyes
Some Westerners who view the world through politically correct rose-colored glasses, claim that only a small percentage of Muslims are intolerant and espouse violence.

We have seen Muslims all over the world riot, burn down Western embassies and murder innocent people, because the secular West will not abide by their religious superstitions.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, led a march in Beirut not of hundreds, but of hundreds of thousands, calling on Muslims to defend the Prophet Muhammad with their blood.

"We will uphold the messenger of Allah not only by our voices but also by our blood.", he thundered.

How can we have a dialogue with a fanatic who doesn't defend his beliefs with facts and arguments, but with bombs and blood?

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah urged Muslims worldwide to keep demonstrating until there is an apology over the drawings and Europe passes laws forbidding insults to the prophet.

European countries must not cave in to threats from terrorists; they must not reward mayhem and murder by issuing apologies for the crime of abiding by the democratic principle of freedom of the press.

Under most Muslim theocracies, blaspheming the Prophet Muhammad is a crime punishable by death, but in secular democracies we are free to criticize and lampoon anybody and anything.

These Muslim fascists want us to pass laws forbidding insults to the prophet, what's next will they demonstrate until we enact laws to force women to cover their faces?

We are facing not so much a clash of civilizations, but a clash of centuries. I am grateful to be living in a 21st century democracy, where I enjoy the freedom to write whatever I want, and I'll be damned if I will allow myself to be intimidated by Muslims with a 7th century mindset.

Kudos to Michelle Malkin for providing a link to the cartoons on her Web site, and shame on CNN and most major media outlets for being too cowardly to publish them.

Now is not the time for cowardice or mealy-mouthed political correctness, if you don't want your children living under Sharia law, you must speak out against Muslim fascism.
