Emilio Navaira Shows Hope But His Condition Is Still Critical

Thirteen years ago when Tejano star Selena was shot in a Corpus Christi motel room and later died of her injuries, Tejano fans, friends and relatives of the slain singer were devastated.

And about a week ago when another Tejano star was severely injured in the bus he was driving and news of the incident got to the public, another collective groan must have been heard as some Tejano fans must have uttered: ´No, not another one…´

Even though he opened his eyes and held his wife´s hand a few days ago, Tejano singer, Emilio Navaira remains in critical condition in the Houston hospital he was taken to after that disastrous bus crash on Easter Sunday.

Suffering from a massive brain injury as a result of the collision, and later going into a coma, Mr. Navaira´s fans and well wishers are clinging to hope. They have been holding candle light vigils in his honour and are praying that the singer will emerge and take to the stage someday again.

Doctors are doing all they can, immediate family members and close friends are at his side and his many fans are praying and hoping for the best and with recovery still a long way off, Emilio Navaira´s condition is not yet out of the danger zone.

And as far as the investigation goes, police are conducting tests to see if alcohol may have played a part in the bus crash.
