I think that Ferrero can improve the health impact of NUTELLA just be transforming it into NUTPISTELLA (Nutella + Pistachios).
NUTPISTELLA is my scientific innovated idea based on the fact that pistachios can give the following healthful advantages to NUTELLA.
1. 90% of the fat in pistachios is monounsaturated (good fat). This type of fat proved to lower the blood cholesterol, so can lower the risk of heart disease.
2. Pistachios have high levels of phytosterols, so can reduce the intestinal absorption of cholesterol and fats present in nutella.
3. Pistachios are very rich in vitamins B1, B6, and minerals such as copper manganese, magnesium, and phosphorus; hence it is very nourishing for kids, especially for their brains.
4. Pistachios are very rich in antioxidants such as Leutin, beta-carotene, and tochopherol; more than any other nuts, so they are the most healthful nuts.
5. Pistachios have very low glycemic index because of its high content of proteins, fibers, and unsaturated fats.
6. In 2007, a research done by Drs. Jenkins, Kendall, and their colleagues of Toronto University, concluded that the consumption of pistachios with carbohydrate-rich meals (such as pasta, rice, or potato) will significantly lower the total meals' glycemic index.
Thus adding pistachios to nutella to be eaten in the form of Luqaimat-sized meals will mitigate the two main nutritional risks regarding nutella (i.e. the high content of saturated fats and the high glycemic index). In the same time, pistachios add two important advantages (i.e. the antioxidant effect and the vitamins and minerals content) raising greatly the nutritional value of nutella with the same great taste.
Depending on these advantages, I think that adding grinded pistachios powder to nutella will help people especially kids to eat their beloved delicious chocolate spread, in the meantime have a steady low glycemic index and finally they get the great health benefits of pistachios.
Experimentally, I grinded 60 grams of pistachios and added to a 350 gm jar of Nutella, and all of my family found it to be a very pleasant combo, energizing, and satiating as a Luqaimat-sized meal when spread on half piece of toast.
Until Ferrero add pistachios to hazelnuts and chocolate in the form of NUTPISTELLA, I advise all nutella lovers to add grinded pistachios to the nutella spread in the way I described above.
