Elhashemy's Broad Spectrum Luqaimat Diet Plan ......6. Vanilla Ice-cream Factor
If you - like the most of us - are fond of ice-cream, you do not have to refrain from it even if you want lose weight. I assure you that you can eat ice-cream daily and still lose 1 – 2 pounds weekly. Why are we afraid of it although it is no more than a frozen desert made from dairy products that supply us with protein and calcium? The answer: because its delicious taste and stimulating effect on the brain, makes it usually difficult to control the volume we eat.
For that reason, I usually advise to include vanilla ice-cream in my innovated broad spectrum Luqaimat diet plan. Luqaimat diet plan is directed first to modulate gut flora in the direction of slimming, second to educate and train people to eat controlled food volumes that is why I gave it the name Luqaimat (which means micro-meals). So you can eat any food in front of you but with the utmost self-control, therefore you can lose 2 pounds weekly although you eat what you like. The third goal of broad spectrum Luqaimat diet plan is to supply your body with all super-foods, so to build strong body and strong immunity. A further goal is to be completely free to eat anything you like and ice-cream is not an exception.
As I did with the pizza and nutella factors in two of my previous articles about my diet plan, I will put forward certain specifications for an ideal ice-cream which we can eat while dieting:
1. Best if it is flavored with natural vanilla bean powder (and not synthetic vanillin, which is synthesized from petrochemicals). I will discuss the importance of vanilla as a phytochemical and a potent antioxidant in one of my upcoming articles, because I put a hypothesis about its effect on weight loss.
2. Best if it is done using stabilizers instead of using the creamy fat to lower the fat percentage of the constituents.
3. Best if it is airy (air content of the ice-cream could reach up to 50% of its volume) so to lower the total caloric intake of any given volume.
4. Best if it is taken as frequent daily in Luqaimat-sized meals (this means that you can take 1 - 2 spoonfuls every 2 hours from 4 – 5 times daily).
Up till now, after eight weeks of applying my broad spectrum Luqaimat diet plan, 33 of my non-diabetic obese patients (BMI +40) lost average of 18 pounds although they included in their diet: pizza, nutella, and vanilla ice-cream, but with the specifications I previously advised.
