Mass. Man Goes On Rampage At Gay Bar
"Will and Grace" is a hit on TV, "BrokeBack Mountain" is a commercial and critical success, and same-sex marriage is legal is Massachusetts. Americans are more accepting of homosexuals, but in large part thanks to the hate-filled rantings of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, there are still many homophobic individuals.
Jacob Robida allegedly walked into the Puzzles Lounge and asked if it was a gay bar. When he was assured that it was, he went on a rampage attacking patrons with a hatchet and a gun.
New Bedford, MA police said a search of the suspect's home turned up Nazi regalia in his bedroom and anti-Semitic writings on the wall.
If only Nazis who were homophobic, homosexuals would have little to worry about, because there are very few people in this country who subscribe to that demonic ideology.
Unfortunately, there are many mainstream politicians and preachers who demonize homosexuals, to raise funds and further their careers.
If Jacob Robida is found guilty he should be punished to the full extent of the law.
Perhaps if Robida had seen "BrokeBack Mountain" he would have realized that homosexuals are just people, yearning for love -- just like everyone else.
