Obama for President, Clinton to remain in Congress

Alan E. Moses
As everything becomes more obvious we now see that the Democrats are quickly rallying behind Senator Barack Obama. While the Clinton machine falters as Senator Clinton continues to show weakness. As Senator Clinton hammers her points she loses ground with each passing day. She has shown that voting for a president is the We proposition, not the I she continually uses.

All agree that change is needed yet how can we believe that from those with long term Washington game playing? Those that take money from the very ones who are profiting with an economy that is under stress. The special interests such as the oil companies, banking, pharmaceutical, Insurance and medical industries have enjoyed the power with billions in contributions and side deals. Corporations such as Halliburton, whom everyone knows has Vice President Cheney as a major stockholder.

This has been Washington for decades. Our Presidents and Congress help the rich and only give to the poor when required. There was a time that we had a strong middle class that was known as the silent majority. After 8 years of a Clinton and 11 by the Bush family America has lost the middle class. The truth is that the working poor are now the majority while jobs and the educational system have faltered.

Medical costs have become the second most expensive cost behind a mortgage or rent payments. Then utilities, food, transportation, and if you can dream, clothes follows that. You throw taxes on there and we have a mess. State, local, federal and sales taxes can eat you alive. We have gotten into a mess by listening to these pro profit conservatives.

Where are the Mom and Pop stores, gas stations, local hardware and pharmacies? Everyone knows that these individual companies create jobs and many are those that provide health insurance plus living wages. All we see now are these large corporations squeezing the American public of every dollar they can. We are being forced to use debit and credit cards so third parties can profit from every transaction.

Wages become stagnate as inflation rises. Just to watch a television you need to pay and still watch many paid commercials. Radio has become a paid media also. The internet and telephone fall into that category as despite the air we breathe everything else cost you something. Can’t wait for someone in Washington to put a law forward that we must start paying taxes on the air we breathe.

We need Senator Clinton in the Senate to lead from that position since she can push laws through. We need Barack Obama as our President because of his ability to unite the country and have belief in hope and desire to live in a world of cooperation. A leader must be able to communicate to the majority. Not just hide behind truths untold. The President must think of his weakest link as he does his strongest. All are important as just one link breaking would mean that the entire chain will collapse.

We have been moderate right for too long and this is becoming an economic and foreign relation catastrophe. Would moderate so called left be so bad for a change? Many seem to forget that Ronald Reagan took us to new heights at a time of economic and political turmoil. He brought America together for a common cause that was needed at that time. This time in history we need a different type of leader in terms of politics not leadership qualities.

Barack Obama can adjust this nation in its time of need to be less intrusive in the foreign relations arena. He can rebuild a middle class that we so desperately need to survive as a nation. And he can keep us on the same page as we strive to regain the ideals laid out over 200 years ago.

If Senator Clinton is true she will work within the Senate to make the same changes and stay in a position of power that lasts longer than 8 years at tops. Stay and continue the changes that Barack Obama starts to correct the direction this country is on.
