Notwithstanding the opinion of pundits Obama is poised to do well in Iowa and beyond

I have written not long ago that there in fact is such a thing called a “Mandate of Heaven”, which Obama seems to enjoy. Ask the Senator himself if he ever thought of himself competing for the Presidency of the United States of America in 2008. You know the answer.

Political pundits in collaboration with mainstream media, which by the way is driven purely by profit motive, keep anointing who is going to be the winner and why such and such candidate will not make it. The public’s hunger for real change, not mere personality change, will surely prove them wrong. And this is a good thing for American democracy. The American electorate should show their political astuteness and sheer determination to break the perception and predictability of American election.

The field is fully filled with seasoned politicians. Some even have spent their entire adult life doing nothing but politics. I wonder whether it does not get monotonous. But if so why do they keep doing it? I am not sure how to answer it. I suppose they keep doing it because they do not want to see themselves doing any other thing except politics. In any case, such personalities should be honored for their service to the nation but should not be rewarded with the Presidency, which is a grandiose pulpit to chart out the nation’s course in the coming years, merely because of longevity of service. That is why Obama really presents a real hope for change. His authenticity, his common sense judgment, and a demeanor of a commoner do make him a candidate with the “Mandate of Heaven’ to win the Presidency.

Caveat: Obviously, a thousand different factors will influence the outcome of the next presidency.
