Will Eritrea’s Rogue Regime go to War with Ethiopia? Part II
Plan A
Plan A is Shaebiya’s newer approach to accomplishing the older intrigues against Ethiopia in particular through new actors. The rogue regime always wishes the actors – new or old ones- to be its replica. Failure to make the older actors the desired replica (at least perfect replicas) has forced Shaebiya to activate (like they call it in movies about spying such as “The Bourne Identity” series) the new actors. The best incident illustrating Shaebiya’s frequent disappointment in its dream to forge Ethiopian edition replicas, among lot ones, is its recent clash with a made in Eritrea but an ‘Ethiopian’ opposition group called Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF). I don’t have to say anything about this. All I have to do is provide you the link for the Statement, Press Release or whatever you name it, issued by the very made in Eritrea EPPF itself entitled "Impossible to Rescue Ethiopia from Eritrea" (http://www.ethiopiafirst.com/news2007/Dec/EPPF_12_06_07.pdf). Didn’t I say, in Part I, some of Shaebiya’s pandemonium disciples have finally come to their consciousness and fired their bosses in Asmara?
Thus, Plan A- the first strategy- is for one last time to form another pandemonium disciples and disseminate erroneous information about Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. Recently Shaebiya injected a huge sum (guess where the money comes from or I’ll tell you later and meantime think of the infamous ‘Hizbawi Mekete’) for the establishment of East African Youth Organizations (http://mathaba.net/news/?x=574383) and to pay some journalists for their proposed duty of popularizing the organization and disseminate erroneous information under the organization’s name. Immediately after the first news of the organization’s first gathering and establishment was posted on Mathaba News Agency, which is mainly based in UK, an apparently Shaebiya’s mouth piece (not Sofia Tesfamariam this time) Dr. Muhammad Shamsaddin, (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewByAuthor.asp?authorID=1225), posted his noxious article. His article posted on the American Chronicle on December 14, 2007 (two days after the news about the organizations’ establishment was posted on Mathaba web) states that Eritrea, Somalia, Ogaden, and Oromia unite against Amhara / Tigray Ethio-Fascism (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=45824). Nice title to portray Ethiopia so bad and as if Ethiopians are fighting among themselves ha? No...No...No...It is not like that. Didn't you hear about Nationas and Nationalities Day recently celebrated in Hawasa, Ethiopia. That is a case, just one case, indicating what is going on in Ethiopia is a perfect opposite to the Ethiopia you wish to depict and see. Go check how Ethiopians are harmonized despite their differences and manifest unity in diveristy.
The mutual errors on both writings are that they never bothered to verify whether it is right to represent East Africa with such a small number of individuals.
To begin with the youths who attended the so called gathering were not more than 18 (See picture taken at the gathering/ http://mathaba.net/news/?x=574383) of which the representatives of Eritrean Embassy in London and ONLF bosses who attended the gathering are to be reduced. They are to be reduced because they were invited ‘guests’ who are not actual members of the organizations. A fair and intelligent guess indicates here that the ‘guests’ are the masterminds behind the formation of the organizations.
Coming back to the number to be reduced, let’s assume the Eritrean Embassy representatives are the Ambassador, his/her (I really don’t know whether it’s a he or a she) secretary/assistant or something like that and another high ranking PFDJ gang from among the clique in Asmara who is there to promise the rogue regime would provide its utmost support to the organizations and together with two or three ONLF guys to plan how to launch series of terrorist attacks and media campaigns on Ethiopia and Somalia- I don’t know if they target or have the whole of East Africa in mind.
Now let’s do the math: 3 PFDJ gangs + 3 ONLF terrorists equals 6 international anti-peace elements. So the actual members are only 12. Still only Allah/God knows who this 12 youth are, how much they are paid or what conjured sad stories they have been told to tempt and bring them to the gathering and whether they represent even half the mentioned races, leave alone the various descents across the wider East Africa.
What is more, the region called East Africa runs from the Great Lakes sub-Region which includes countries like Democratic Republic of Congo (a portion of), Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda all the way across Kenya and another sub-Region called Horn of Africa formed by Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sudan and Eritrea and even up to Egypt. So can some 12 individuals who claim to be Oromos, Somalis and Eritreans represent the whole of East Africa even if they actually are who they say are. I don’t agree and I believe you don’t agree either. How about the Swahilis, Tutsis, Hutus, Bejas, Southern Sudanese, Northern Sudanese, Afars, Esas, Kunamas, the more than 80 nations and nationalities in Ethiopia and so on and so forth.
Therefore Plan A seems to be a failure from its inauguration and Shaebiya is this time quick and smart enough to understand that or perhaps knew this will happen sooner or later. And it’s always nice to have Plan B. That is why it has been at the same time laying the foundations for Plan B, a strategy everyone assumes Shaebiya is rushing to implement.
Plan B
Like the devil feels in the presence of angels, Shaebiya always feels insecure and threatened in the thought of a prosperous, united and strong Ethiopia. That sort of psychological disorder coupled with the lust for adventurism and unjustifiable wishes to be a regional and continental bully keep Isias Afewerki, the monarch of Shaebiya, and his ‘knights’ nights awake. Mind you, what keeps the gangs nights awake is not the searches for ways to cooperate with neighboring and other countries thereby make the unlucky Eritrea and Eritreans prosperous, peaceful and strong; it’s only the search for ways to make wars. It’s possible to assume that war appears to be the only means of survival for Shaebiya- at least Shaebiya believes so.
Thus, and else where in the world the gangs are making the chronometer tick so fast towards the restart of Shaebiya’s favorite lifestyle; WAR. The gangs have time and again been sermonizing that Ethiopia is preparing to invade Eritrea. In reality the sermonizes are designed as pretexts for Shaebiya’s exclusive wish - start war with Ethiopia. Shaebiya wants the war but not the blame on itself. On the contrary Ethiopia never wants the war and Shaebiya knows that. Therefore it is trying to reverse the scenario: start the war and use the money obtained from various “State Sponsors of Shaebiya and Any Entity Against Ethiopia” (hope you understand what I mean by that) as well as money extracted from Eritreans under the disguise of ‘Hizbawi Mekete’ to buy armaments and some media to disseminate Shaebiya’s fabricated version of the story as to who started the war.
As the former sources of money- “State Sponsors of Shaebiya and Any Entity Against Ethiopia”- are mostly clandestine and if they are not clandestine it is not diplomatically smart to mention names and dwell on them, I directly go to the later –the overt sources of money.
Hizbawi Mekete: Shaebiya’s Favorite Disguise
Hizbawi Mekete, which I learnt means public defense, is always the last minute preparation to start war. Shaebiya always organizes various Hizbawi Meketes when it is completely unable to control its lust for war. And it has been nearly more that two months now since Shaebiya launched global Hizbawi Mekete. That is the final call for war against Ethiopia.
Hizbawi Mekete, the Achilles Heel of most ordinary Eritreans, is Shaebiya’s Favorite Disguise because it enables it extract money from Eritreans very simply, mostly with no questions where and how the money is going to be spent. If anybody comes to Eritreans wherever they are and calls a certain conference with big banners Hizbawi Mekete written on them posted across the conference hall and asks the attendants to give money they will do it gratefully. Unlike this round, that was the general mode of response by Eritreans whenever the rhetoric of Hizbawi Mekete is on the air.
I understand every Eritreans’ feeling for their mother land and certainly they should respond that way when they feel the mother land is facing dangers from outside. No doubt I, like most people of every country, would have reacted that way too. What makes Eritreans’ case different is they are helping Shaebiya, a regime the world clearly knows as despotic, with worst records in press and religious freedom as well as human rights among list of atrocities it commits against its own citizens, stay longer in power. They are blindly and unknowingly lengthening the miseries of their own people. Shaebiya uses the rhetoric that Ethiopia is going to invade Eritrea to escape from the political, economic and diplomatic crisis it immersed itself in. Shaebiya is doing that by shooting the Achilles Heels of some Eritreans (particularly the Diaspora).
Eritreans pour in their hard earned money because they have been told it is investment on their country. It is always advisable to invest on matters of one’s country. But it is also equally advisable, if not more importantly, to invest wisely. The wise way of investment for Eritreans is to make sure that their money is used to bring hope, respect of human rights, peace, democracy, freedom, prosperity and religious equality to their own people. Investing on Shaebiya will only do the opposite: keeps Eritreans further away from hope, peace, respect of human rights, democracy, freedom, prosperity and religious equality. Thus the only viable wise ways of investment for Eritreans on their country is one to invest on the recently growing political oppositions (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=46941) which seem to be determined to end the gloom on their people but complain about absence financial and any form of support from Ethiopia and America and very much blame the international community for keeping silent in the miseries of Eritreans under Shaebiya.
The second option is to ascertain they don’t invest against their own people by boycotting and even opposing the calls of the Hizbawi Mekete hoodlums. And recent reports indicate that both options are being implemented at a time while a third and very important way has sprung up from within Shaebiya itself. Reports such as Eritrean troops slip to Sudan after rebel attacks (http://www.sudantribune.com/spip.php?article24913) are immense. Soldiers and officers of the regime are increasingly fleeing to neighboring countries and that makes the oppositions’ task of ending tyranny in Eritrea very easy. So it is strictly advisable for any Eritrean to be part of Eritrea’s better tomorrow instead of the dying harsh current goons or else sit back and watch their country and people at cross roads of ending tyranny or enduring it.
Shaebiya particularly is in a great deficiency of financial resource; specifically hard currency. It seems “State Sponsors of Shaebiya and Any Entity Against Ethiopia” stopped, at least reduced, pouring money on Shaebiya as they haven’t seen their interests met satisfactorily through it. A point worth mentioning here is Shaebiya itself is one pandemonium disciple for those “State Sponsors of Shaebiya and Any Entity Against Ethiopia”. That is why it lacks, actually doesn’t have any, manners of a government. Subsequently shooting the Achilles Heels of some Eritreans (particularly the Diaspora) is the only means to pour in money. It is; however, a thing of the past that Shaebiya is able to extract money that way. Do you want to know how this round of Hizbawi Mekte is going on? Good, I will site some incidents and give you a direction to let you yourself dig it out. Unlike earlier rounds, this round of Hizbawi Mekte itself turned out to be another blow on Shaebiya (http://zete9.asmarino.com/?itemid=1146). There were even incidents of Hzbawi Mekhete for the victims (the people) not the victimizer (Shaebiya) (http://www.africanpath.com/p_blogEntry.cfm?blogEntryID=2810).
In another case Hizbawi Mekete called in Seattle and Washington have become a wonderful platform for A Successful Demonstration by Eritrean Americans Opposing the Regime in Eritrea (http://www.nharnet.com/December_07/Seattle_Demo_Dec2407.htm). To dig further go to google, write Hizbawi Mekete and click the Enter button. You will find a lot of Eritrean sites and you be the judge after going through some of those sites. Oh don't forget a court in Canada passed a verdict that any form of extracting money by Shaebiya from Eritreans is illegal.
So Plan B could not bring the assumed support to Shaebiya. Instead it has become an immediate cause for the start of the rogue regime’s demise without going to war with Ethiopia or being invaded and overthrown from its throne by Ethiopia as it wishes Eritreans and the world to perceive. In light of this I assume, and really like to believe that the Rogue Regime in Eritrea wouldn’t be tempted to go to war with Ethiopia.
