America’s Mainstream Media: Modern Day Tokyo Rose’s

Michael C. Morris
I just heard a statement on CNN’s Wolf Blitzer show that floored me. To quote “The tapes from Abu Ghraib prison hurt America” end quote in a comment referring to the CIA tapes being destroyed before the America public could see them. I did not catch who said it but I believe the caption said minority leader who would be John Boehner. If I am wrong I apologize.

The reason that the Abu Ghraib prison tapes hurt America is because what was being done was WRONG and IMMORAL! Did your mother and father (oh that’s right, fathers have no place in a family in America except the financial aspect and to beat women) not tell you that stooping to your enemy’s level only makes you EXACTLY like them. Is the American Government though its actions making all American’s human rights abusers? Maybe the world can get the world family court to issue a protection from abuse order against America to protect POWS. Oh, did that not already happen at the Geneva Convention?

While I understand the term and rules of Journalism, and the fear of reprisal from legal and government arenas, truth is not always what can hold up in court. For a true journalist to rely on the documents or statements handed to them by the same people who violated the law, makes you a Tokyo Rose propaganda machine.

Any journalist that believes the CIA and ANYONE who says the tapes where destroyed to protect operative’s identities, also wrote columns that the Nixon 18 minutes was just a glitch in the recording. As journalists we have a duty not only to report the truth but to report logical, maybe without absolute proof, paths of why or what transpired. To not present all sides to a story is an irreprehensible deception to the America people.

If the justice department covers up this latest criminal violation, and the mainstream media does not call for immediate impeachment and prosecution of all of the officials involved, take your American flag onto the front yard and burn it because that country, those moral and values, everything that that flag stands for no longer exists.
